One victim of the federal shutdown is the WIC program which provides food assistance to women and children. In the linked story is an interview with a massively morbidly obese woman who just had her third baby. As she qualifies for WIC, her husband must be making less than $36,000 per year. Hello! Quit having kids that you cannot afford. Why should everyone else have to pay for your bad judgement? And for God's sake, please lose about 200 pounds. I don't want to be paying for your disability, too. If you are in a bad way because of an accident, or medical issue, that's one thing. But if you are behaving irresponsibly, then deal with what you have done, and quit looking for a hand out.

Agreed, only rich people should breed, because history has shown that no contributors to the future have ever arisen from poor backgrounds.

Oh wait, this goes against the Job Creator Narrative doesn't it. 99% of them like to go on and on about how they were born into absolute shit and rose above it.

Hmmm... what to do when facing complexity? Right, rely on short talking points and hatred of the lower classes.

The rich need to roll through the ghetto with their sperm loaded in paintball lozenges in paintball guns.

When one of those over fertile lard butt hefters bends over, (or just attach a pizza and a colt 45 to a fishing line), BAM, instant prego cellulite bigfoot!

It'll improve the gene pool in no time. They won't even notice the difference.

The taxpayers are their daddies anyway, it's only fair.

Robber Baron could hire cockroach peasant lackeys to load and fire his sperm-paintball guns for him. He would overrun the hood with Robber Baron ghetto hybrids.

If you Google this woman's name, you will see that there is not a social media site or internet vendor that she does not post on. If she has that much free time, perhaps she could try working.

And her frank morbid obesity means health problems not that far down the road that we will all pay for. It 's not an issue of attractiveness.

There is no crime (yet) in being poor. But if your husband is marginally employed, i.e., National Guard, and he is the only earner, why the hell do you keep plopping out babies?

It follows that wealthy people are better than the rest of us, and that poor people are just shit.

Of course, he also said anyone who didn't believe in him would burn in hell for all eternity.

I'm not sure Jesus was the "great moral teacher" some people make him out to be. Clearly, he was a religious fanatic. He was more like Osama Bin Laden than MLK or Ida Tarbell.

I'll settle for A/C.

Do you think we'll go to the Christian hell or the Muslim hell? I figure it's about a 50/50 shot.

Then again, IF the probability of a religion being true is directly proportional to the number of its adherents (argumentum ad populum), it's probably more like a 60/40 shot (Christian Hell/Muslim Hell).

Agreed. There are many people who take advantage of the social safety nets and they do cost us. However, just remember that the irresponsible warfare industry costs you ten times as much as the freeloaders on America's social safety nets. For every welfare queen like this woman, there are many welfare queens in defense contracting corporations, and those queens cost a lot more to maintain.

Here we agree on. However when I mentioned my opposition to those farming subsidies, the raging duck accused me of wanting to go back to the 1930s and have famine instead of feast. While this is a completely baseless claim and the subsidies (mostly for a couple of big farms) rather cause price increases over time (similar to section 8/minimum wage), I am waiting for the duck to lay its vengeance on you, but I have the slight feeling that this will not happen since I'm a wannabe paid shill for the Republican party and you are more in line with its general views ;)

The overwhleming majority of subsidies goes to the large to very large farms, that don't even need it. What was originally a program to basically buy votes and and raise rural incomes has become a corporate welfare program that ends up in the agribusiness pockets that help lobby for it. An example is that for every $1 paid in crop insurance claims, it costs $3.34 to the USDA. And last year was a severe drought, yet a record net income for farmers. That's not just sucking on the government teat by welfare queen famers, it's uber-billions by every ag related corporation and business, and ironically the number of right-leaning or republican people that are farmers, or own/run those businesses is 99%.

Sure, I don't have the numbers on the 99% republican run big farms to validate (but I believe them to be high as well), but since Ron Paul is (and votes) against those subsidies this is another major opposition to the mainstream Republican party line in a major topic (another fact that was disputed previously in another thread).

Yea, right up until he isn't. If his vote would be the LAST ONE to eliminate them instead of the ONLY ONE against them, somehow I don't think that he'd vote the same way. After all, he sees subsidies as bringing home the gravy, and he has no problem with that and has said as much.

No, we recognize they're people who have above average need to protect themselves from two legged predators and have Colin Noir (unofficially) doing minority outreach. We also oppose gun laws which will impact them disproportionately like bans on affordable guns and transfer taxes ($25 isn't much on a $2000 purchase, but represents a 33% markup on a $75 pistol).
