"You should be blaming your insurance company because they have not been providing you with coverage that meets the minimum basic standards for health care."

"Let me put it more bluntly: your insurance companies have been taking advantage of you and the Affordable Care Act puts in place consumer protection and tells them to stop abusing people."

They better put a muzzle on that uppity Juan Williams. The boy just doesn't know his place!

Yeah, at least Fox snatched him after NPR royally fucked up by firing him in an atrocious political correctness stunt.

Hired by FOX as a token he can't get any love from anyone. Now he'll get booted with such a toxic rep that only the Libertarians will have him on.

That's because Libertarians are the only true liberals. Dems and Repubs are just different sides of the same coin. Good that there's a 2nd option.

If any state ever elects a libertarian majority legislature and governor, the first result will be a total ban on abortion.

In your world, thus Einstein is an idiot. But in reality, his statement is just as poignant a changing moment for modern physics as if he had said it in a more congenial language.

Yeah, but you left out that Einstein also would have told you that

a) Economics is not a science

b) Neither is flipping shacks and talking smack on a web forum

c) To go suck a goat

New plans are a lot more expensive. They are forcing everyone to buy more insurance then they can afford or need.

How would you feel if someone forced you to buy a car you can't afford or do not want to pay for? Well, ACA is no different with the mandate.

You are just too fucking stupid to look past the "fuck" and read the points, and debate them. That is all. Your weak shit mind gets stuck on the one or two words of profanity, and because it is a piece of crap, it just shuts off.

You did not debate any points, simply because you don't know about them. Debating with you is futile. Your profanity is what defines you.

Wow. Fox Noise actually surprises me every once in awhile with a well thought out opinion:

People should be angry that their insurance companies were not paying for these humane, common sense benefits all along.

It baffles me that people are directing their anger at the ACA which rights these terrible wrongs.

The Hartford Courant newspaper reports that the CEO of Aetna insurance made $36 million last year plus several millions more in stock options.

They also report that the CEO of Cigna cleared a cool $12.5 Million plus stock options.

The American health insurance industry is one of the most profitable in the history of the world. Before the ACA, they made money by finding any excuse, any loophole to deny coverage to the sickest and most vulnerable people in our society.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Too bad the teabagger blowhards here will stick their fingers in their ears and refuse to listen. Just keep chanting your mantra: "Obama lied!!! Obama lied!!! Waaah!!!!"

I agree and already knew full well that the health insurance industry was beyond fucked.

The democrat solution?

Force everyone to participate in the raping or pay a fine.

I guess since everything is relative, dems feel better knowing everyone gets fucked, rather then allow those of us smart enough to know better, to not participate

Bingo!!!!

I have always taken great pride in walking at my own pace, avoiding the pitfalls that the lemmings and sheeple constantly walk into. But in the last decade or so, both parties have cast a wide drag net that mandates every one in America participates in
the stupidity and insanity.

From education, to work, to healthcare, to every single thing in American life, these motherfuckers want to dictate the terms on how people live in this country. That is not the principals this country was founded on. We're waaaaaay out of the ballpark.

No, yawn: Libertarians are a subset of the GOP. I've asked before and you just bailed: name your man. Just name him.

Ron Paul, Bill Still.

sbh says

You don't advocate "personhood" bills, but they do. You aren't a racist, but they are.

The original tea-party movement had as little politically questionable statements as the two major parties. Some got hijacked but the GOP and some simply smelled the good taste of money and advanced their career at the expense of their original positions. Nothing to see here, you can find every behavior you lament in the 2 major parties as well. Can you name many of the racists you think represent the current tea-party movement or what's left of it? The accusation of racism is thrown around today easier than fiat money printed by the Fed, and that means something. Even Juan Williams was accused of being racist, 99% of these accusations are laughable and never hold up.

Well, except when it comes to a woman's uterous, and how people that love each other are treated in terms of taxes and health insurance, and how the food we grow is dictated, and how we vote to have our voice heard in terms of representation, and selective representation for poor people but not in regards to selective taxation, limited or no taxation for selected rich people with an emphasis on over-representation, etc., etc.,etc..............

No, it actually doesn't at all. My points above are the same, logically speaking, with or without the profanity.

What part of this statement is coherent, logical, or presents an original or enlightening concept?

18   Shaman   2013 Nov 12, 3:12am

The accusation of racism is a cop-out for people who don't wish to truly debate the issues and want to "win the argument" by calling the other kids names and running home to mommy.
All sides will have racists. Republicans have racists. Tea party has racists. Democrats have racists too! They just aren't all the same color. Racism is a problem that transcends both party and political ideology. To brand any group that you don't agree with as "racist" is lazy, and also intellectually dishonest. So stop it already!
Otherwise all we have are nerdy white guys (who only have nerdy white friends) sitting around at their keyboards and calling each other racist. It's retarded.

Sure, why don't you start. Haven't seen a single example yet. PLease stick with politicians and what they said and/or what bills they introduced that you find racist or offensive otherwise. Within this millenium would be preferable.

Right. Stop dictating how people live their lives. Let's go back to slavery, child labor, and only white men being allowed to vote. Those were the good old days.

errc says

No, that's the only way an insurance system that requires EVERYONE to be able to get insurance, regardless of pre-existing conditions, could possibly operate.

Imagine you sell car insurance and you allow people to buy your insurance and get full coverage AFTER they crash their car. Then you give them a big payout, and they immediately cancel their policy. Would you make money or lose money?

If "smart" people were allowed to go without insurance, then sign up AFTER they get cancer, get a million dollars worth of treatment, then dump the insurance again after they're well, it WON'T WORK.

Do you understand how insurance works? We both pay premiums - If I get sick, and you are healthy, then your premiums are in part subsidizing my medical care. But if YOU get sick and I am healthy, MY premiums are subsidizing YOU. It's a trade off. Just because you aren't sick right now at this moment, doesn't mean you will NEVER be sick.

Now, how did insurance companies handle the fact that people were free to sign up and drop their insurance at any time? Simple - if you tried to sign up and you were already sick, they said NO. They said you couldn't have insurance, because you would be draining more OUT of the system than you were putting INTO the system.

Saying NO might be o.k. for any other type of insurance, but saying no, you can't have health insurance meant people were either dying, going bankrupt, or using ER services and stiffing them on the check. None of those are acceptable in one of the wealthiest countries in the world.

So ACA says you CAN'T say "no" if someone wants to buy health insurance. Don't forget that most Americans, when asked if this is a good idea, answer with a resounding "yes" [EDIT: Even republicans]. We don't WANT anyone to be denied healthcare. But the ONLY way to do that is to have everyone in the system. If insurance companies only covered people who are sick AT THE MOMENT, the system would not be financially workable. Surely you can understand that?

I sincerely hope you will read what I wrote and really think about it. I'm sure you won't, though. :(

using ER services and stiffing them on the check.

And the same people whining about the ACA were the same ones whining about the above and bitching about the people that did that, just like their incessant bitching led to mandatory auto insurance, and they bitch about that, too.

This persistent whining and bitching should be proof by now that selfish assholes will never be satisfied.
