They all looked into your eyes and lied to your face. Every last one of them.

SEN. HARRY REID (D-Nev.): “In fact, one of our core principles is that if you like the health care you have, you can keep it.” (Sen. Reid, Congressional Record, S.8642, 8/3/09)

SEN. RICHARD DURBIN: “We believe — and we stand by this — if you like your current health insurance plan, you will be able to keep it, plain and simple, straightforward.” (Sen. Durbin, Congressional Record, S.6401, 6/10/09)

SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER (D-NY): “If you like your insurance, you keep it.” (U.S. Senate, Finance Committee, Bill Mark-Up, 9/29/09)

SEN. MARK BEGICH (D-Alaska): “If you got a doctor now, you got a medical professional you want, you get to keep that. If you have an insurance program or a health care policy you want of ideas, make sure you keep it. That you can keep who you want.” (Sen. Begich, Townhall Event, 7/27/09)

You sound hysterical with your disbanding title. However after reading all the quotes the scope of distortion sheds a new light on the comprehension of the bill by the people who authored.it. its scary that .major legislation can go as far as the aca did without understanding the impact.

2   PeopleUnited   2013 Nov 16, 1:11am

No one really read the bill they just talked about it. And the main thing they said was we need to pass this bill. From the quotes above it is clear they had no idea what they were talking about.

Just a bunch of parrots working for another macadamia nut.

SEN. BOB CASEY (D-Pa.): “I also believe this legislation and the bill we are going to send to President Obama this fall will also have secure choices. If you like what you have, you like the plan you have, you can keep it. It is not going to change

Huh? Are you that ignorant of a bill you support?

4   HEY YOU   2013 Nov 16, 1:39am

Eliminate ACA,Now!
Conservatives don't need pre-existing coverage for their children & grandchildren or even themselves. These brilliant entrepreneurs have the bills covered & if they don't,the Republican Party has the perfect medical plan.

DIE!

BTW, Fuck you Democrats.

It's not about the president, now.
These quotes actually absolve him of independently telling this fib. It now appears like a systemic problem with the party. Too many party elders spouting the same tired old line in a brazen attempt to jam socialized healthcare up uncle sam's ass. Whatever happened to honesty, just telling it like it is??

BTW, not "fuck you democrats". "Fuck you socialized healthcare".

When you see the entire democratic hierarchy
HEY YOU says

BTW, Fuck you Democrats.

Major portions of it, yes.
Keep preexisting conditions with some kind of penalty if you sign up with a preexisting condition, and did not have health care prior to but were able to afford it...

Some kind of penalty? Pretty similar to the penalty you get if you can afford health insurance and don't buy it under the ACA.

Under your idea, I could just skip health insurance and then when I get sick buy it. If I'm poor, you say I have no penalty. If I'm rich, the penalty cannot be as much as the years of not paying for health insurance.

Problem with this plan is that it will drive up the costs for those who have insurance. The bigger the pool, the smaller the costs.

IMO, the inevitable destination of our nation's journey to a solution to health care will be medicare for all with the ability to pay additionally for "first class".

I realize that in my income bracket I will pay more taxes for this. But right now my businesses pay almost 200k per year for our employees. So if my personal taxes went up 50k with medicare for all, I'd be happy.

Not like aca. say you go 20 years without insurance, then get cancer and buy in. penalty would be something like the insurance would cover the 25 copay, and you would cover the 100,000.00 operation.
that's incentive to carry insurance during good times.

And that plan is better than ACA because......?

14   Y   2013 Nov 16, 12:31pm

Because it targets a single insurance issue, "preexisting conditions", without turning the insurance industry, and the general population, on their collective heads.

Piecemeal the fucker. Easier to make adjustments without fucking up the whole system.

SEN. JAY ROCKEFELLER (D-W.Va.): “I want people to know, the President's promise that if you like the coverage you have today you can keep it is a pledge we intend to keep.” (U.S. Senate, Finance Committee, Hearing, 9/23/09)

Ok, so you will be voting for the house bill to let people keep their plans then...Good boy!

16   Y   2013 Nov 16, 12:40pm

SEN. JEANNE SHAHEEN (D-N.H.): ‘if you have health coverage that you like, you get to keep it’ “My understanding … is that … if you have health coverage that you like you can keep it. As I said, you may have missed my remarks at the beginning of the call, but one of the things I that I said as a requirement that I have for supporting a bill is that if you have health coverage that you like you should be able to keep that. …under every scenario that I’ve seen, if you have health coverage that you like, you get to keep it.” (Sen. Shaheen, “Health Care Questions From Across New Hampshire,” Accessed 11/13/13)

This is how presidential misinformation affects legislators considering pending legislation.
Maybe legislators should have to pass a written exam to qualify them to vote on pending legislation. Prove to us that they even read it first.

17   Y   2013 Nov 16, 12:46pm

SEN. DEBBIE STABENOW (D-Mich.): “As someone who has a large number of large employers in my state, one of the things I appreciate about the chairman's mark is — is the grandfathering provisions, the fact that the people in my state, 60 percent of whom have insurance, are going to be able to keep it. And Mr. Chairman, I appreciate that. That's a strong commitment. It's clear in the bill … I appreciate the strong commitment on your part and the president to make sure that if you have your insurance you can keep it. That's the bottom line for me.” (U.S. Senate, Finance Committee, Bill Mark-Up, 9/24/09)

Ohhhh, the commitments made... Yes, it's quite CLEAR in the bill....yes....thank you for the commitments!
Now that it's passed....FUCK YOU ALL....YOU AIN'T KEEPING JACK SHIT!!!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH SORRYASSSUCKAS!!!
