Or anything in South Florida that doesn't have the "Memorial Hospital" Corporate branding on the building.
That way they get to charge you full Hospital prices for any out patient clinic stuff. Because technically even though the clinic is miles away from the Hospital, they bill you for having their staff on hand 5 miles away, in case anything goes wrong. Of course is just a load of Horse shit, and the folks 5 miles away at the hospital, have no idea that you or that clinic even exists.
But that arrangement is good for an extra $1200 that the Insurance wont pay.

Because it's considered in hospital procedure. Which they want you to to do as much cheaper out patient stuff as possible. But you can't, because the Hospitals own all of the outpatient clinics.

Even auto mechanics are required by law to present a price estimate and have you sign it before treating your sick vehicle. I guess human bodies aren't as important as auto bodies? Or, what is more likely, auto mechanics don't have a huge powerful lobby working to ensure their right to ass rape anyone who ventures into their place of business.

The hospital reduced the bill to $20,227 because of a contract with Ferguson's insurer. In the end, he paid $5,400 of his own money for his deductible and co-pay.

The hospital defended its prices, saying it has to charge prices higher than retail because of the various discounts it is required to give insurers.
