Post-Dispatch had “heard from both conservative and liberal readers asking for new conservative voices.” The “offensive and inaccurate”piece Will wrote earlier this month “made the decision easier,” Messenger said, adding: “We apologize for publishing it.

Rewarding people for being victims is asinine. But that is the MO of the liberal party.

George Will could make a reading of the pledge of allegiance offensive and inaccurate. He has a valid point, but as usual is so bombastic, ideological, and self important that it gets lost.

Also his math sucks.
"there were 98 reported sexual assaults at Ohio State. That would be 12 percent of 817 total out of a female student population of approximately 28,000, for a sexual assault rate of approximately 2.9 percent"

If there are 98 reported assaults out of 28,000 the rate is .35%. If there were 12 percent reported out of 28,000 then there should have been 3360 reports not 98. Simply writing about that alone would have made the Obama adminstration look like the idiots they are and been a much more useful piece of writing than his usual junk.

98 is 12% of 817. 98 reported cases, so going by the alleged 12% reporting rate, there should have been 817 taking place, which is much much less than 20% of 28,000.

Why does it have to be "his" cave?
Why do you hate mountainous real estate shared ownership?

Ah, that was what he was attempting to say. Ok so his math was only off by a multiple of 20 roughly. He still sucks at math. If he had just reported the story straight it would have been a pretty good column. But I guess you have to cater to the tastes of your readers.

I stand corrected. There would have been shared female dragee also in all likely hood.

What are you talking about? Did you read the article? He was debunking the 12% reporting rate number and 20% victim rate number, both from the article that he was debunking. There were 98 cases of reported sexual assault at Ohio State. If the 12% reporting rate number were correct, then the actual number of assaults would be 817. 817 is far less than 20% of 28,000. So George Will used logic and math quite well in debunking the 12% and 20% numbers being bandied about.

Ok now I do know what he was trying to say. It's pretty incomprehensible as written.

Like I said he has a good point, I don't have any issue with his point. He's right the obama administartion is just being idiots. I have always had an issue with his writing. if he tried writing in something other than the George Will version of klingon it would be nice.

Very good on the math Bobby.

Is this the reason you miss the point?

I'm thinking maybe a liberal college has a higher incident of tree jumpers because of a lack of principles?

The liberal was neglected as a child or has self esteem issues or was discriminated against. There fore he does not respect other peoples private property i.e. body, so he helps himself to the lovely young coed.

But it is ok because of the above and more. Every liberal knows that.

Perhaps you are correct. He should not have assumed the average reader understand 4th grade math and 8th grade logics, in this day and age of remedial classes and culture of failures.

What part of "he has a valid point": are you to uneducated to understand? Geez graduating grade school just isn't what it used to be.

George will hasn't produced 8th grade logic in his life. His columns are a testament to his own sense of self importance combined with poor grammar and convoluted (at best) thinking. He should not have assumed the average oxford don could untangle his thoughts.

I did think this blaze article was extremely overblown. Calling this Will guy "the best writer in America" just proves the ignorance of the journalist.

It is just that you focused on the math rather than the point of the article.

Will has a big vocabulary, you might do well to use a dictionary so that his articles don't seem like Klingon.

No I focused on the original post which was about a newspaper dropping him. The comments that followed were my own opinion of wills habit of stepping on his own dick to prove what in his mind is his own brilliance. I don't need a dictionary to follow will, even when he manages to mangle language in ways that would make yogi berra proud.

From the way you guys need to vociferously defend any and all things conservative no matter how small and insignificant (like my opinion of wills writing, not even his content I agree with him on some issues including this one, just his writing) there has to be a really massive case of inferiority complex or serious problem with small dick syndrome going on in the conservative world.
