My first real estate bear thread (ever)

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

http://www.patrick.net/?p=1248418

Where he states:

"This really is a test of faith for me. A bear trap at exactly 5.25 years post bottom is..............right now. It's on both the 20's bubble and the gold bubble chart.

I may be going to cash tomorrow."

"Not going to cash yet, however if we saw another 500 up on the dow I'd very possibly go to cash and wait for the last bear trap to appear.

Dunno yet. I've got to spend all day charting now."

If you read the adoration posts, you quickly figure out that many of those are from people for whom English is not their first language. I'm not quite sure exactly what that implies, but I'm thinking something gets lost in translation.

Anyway, accepting the words of an Internet poster as gospel is insanely stupid.

2   smaulgld   2014 Aug 28, 2:57am

If you are comfortable with your position and analysis, no need to attack others.

You mean, unlike him?

I don't give him enough credence to care what he thinks, but it certainly is a curiosity?

But, that's how narcissistic personalities operate..

Yes, that is along the lines of what I'm thinking. IOW wouldn't you think that Bernie Mahdoff displayed some whacked personality disorders?

In all fairness though outside of Volcker, I think the Fed chairmen/women have all become somewhat addicted to the spotlight. It is a drug like no other.

I have very few on ignore, the only ones are those that continuously made personal attacks rather than reasoned arguments.
No point in engaging the enraged!

There's going to be some really pissed off people if his NEW call for action is wrong...

And he mocked me for ASKING the question!

You can always be right when you predict stocks will crash in 2017 and also say they will correct this year.

What flavor kool-aid is your favorite?

Just delete the posts that you or others make that show you are wrong and you can be right most of the time!

Exactly..... The kool-aid drinkers don't see the posts he deletes that proves his narrative wrong in his threads. The only posts left in his threads are from his cheerleaders!

He also changes the titles of his posts-just changed his most recent one!

Be forewarned, if you are inclined to rely on the Yellin put, you may be disappointed in the sense that at some point she will not be able to make good on this. There have been times in history that the stock market has taken decades to recover.

13   smaulgld   2014 Aug 28, 6:14am

What Happens after the next stock market crash?
My guess is the Fed will try to reinflate but might not be able to pull it off having just blown $4 Trillion to blow up this bubble

That would be VERY different from the Bear Trap that ducky is predicting. What do you make of the fact that more people are quitting their jobs. Is this a result of an improving economy or the freedom of job choice that Obamacare provides?

First of all, there is a difference between a correction and a collapse. So far, the market is higher so he has the right to mock. When the market collapses, you have to right to mock him. What goes around comes around. However, if he's right with his market correction prediction and the market goes higher after that, well....then he continues to mock you. Don't you think that's fair?

And so far, he has been right. People have the right to change their mind at anytime due to different circumstance. It's quite brave that he made it publicly and willing to get eggs on his face if he's wrong. What have you contributed to this board?

Not sure who are the mutts. I see quite a few of them on here. Unlike others, I don't like to ignore anyone, and I don't vote dislike on anyone because I believe that's childish. However, you cannot expect a child to behave differently so do what you please.

We have been saying a bunch of stuff has been overvalued for a long time.

The duck has finally smelled the coffee, and has changed his position 180 in one month, which is curious.

His shift from 2017 crash to "tomorrow" is curious. Just checking because it almost sounded like a bull thread...just making sure my fellow bears were not 180ing because the duck changed position

Our position is based on a profound understanding of the subject and are not easy to turn skittish.
