All people are asking is get a mother fucker off the street, you don't want them ridding the subway, and going on sandwich picnic bike rides though the park.

Are you sure you wanna play this game? Science does have a pretty good track record of sucking hind tit to fear.

Hey, sometimes it's the science that says be afraid. But in the case of Ebola there was a bunch of irrational panic about it blowing up here.

Obama listened to the scientists.

Maybe dig out some of the captains quotes while you are at it. Now he just wants people to not be ridding the subway.

I don't understand why they won't go under voluntary quarantine for 21 days until we figure out what the shit is going on. They go all the way to Africa, risking their lives and going through lots of inconvenience to help people in need, but become assholes when they come back.

The fear may be based in people like Gaëtan Dugas:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ga%C3%ABtan_Dugas

Dugas is featured prominently in Randy Shilts's book And the Band Played On, which documents the outbreak of the AIDS pandemic in the United States. Shilts portrays Gaëtan Dugas as having almost sociopathic behavior by allegedly intentionally infecting, or at least recklessly endangering, others with the virus. Dugas is described as being a charming, handsome sexual athlete who, according to his own estimation, averaged hundreds of sex partners a year. He claimed to have had over 2,500 sexual partners across North America since becoming sexually active in 1972.[7]

While in reality Dugas may not have been the asshole (pun intended) portrayed in the book there may be a real fear of infected people adopting a fatalistic "gift giver" attitude.

Unlikely. This is not transmitted only by sex or IV drug sharing, and with Ebola it's an extremely short period of time between being symptomatic (i.e. being contagious, and feeling like SHIT), and either dying or getting better.

I don't see much reason to think that someone that happens to catch it will also happen to be a pathologically evil dirtbag.
