Didn't stop WSJ from exposing her BS.

Yahoo

How are these guys still in business? Has Yahoo ever offered anything of value? Maybe a crappy free email account back in the 1990s, but that's it.

Yahoo

Switch to satellite view. Damn, that's a lot of tennis courts. Is that all Yahoo employees do all day?

6   MAGA   2016 Feb 19, 12:41pm

Yahoo. The place to get all the latest news about the Kardashians.

I go right by there a lot. You can't see the tennis courts because they are on the roof.

But that's not Marissa Meyer. Who is it?

Yahoo finance is still better than Google finance.

I agree. Somebody told me I was full of shit for pointing this out a while back.

I didn't think it was.

I agree. I like the Yahoo forums plus the videos.

Now if Yahoo can just cut down on the celebrity news. :-(

13   MAGA   2016 Feb 19, 5:40pm

I wonder if Yahoo would be a good fit for Facebook to buy?

Elizabeth Holmes, CEO of Theranos, a company that raised a LOT of money and has been under investigation by the FDA.

I think it's the daughter of Obama's Water Czar, who has that scam with the cheap blood test going, dropped out of Stanford at 19 because she was so smart, sold computers to the Chinese at 14, and all the other "Entrepreneur" exaggerations. She's the great-granddaughter of some Instant Yeast Mogul who dated alcoholic silent film stars.

But I can't remember her name :)

16   Patrick   2016 Feb 19, 6:19pm

ah, you're thinking of Fleischmann's yeast:

17   Blurtman   2016 Feb 19, 6:33pm

The claims of her company's technology are nothing novel. I attribute the attention to momentum, her looks, and the story - dropping out of Stanford, etc.

18   Booger   2016 Feb 19, 8:03pm

Stop calling web pages "technology" companies. They are the online equivalent of a newspaper or a store.

Yahoo to lay off more than 20% of staff

The cuts will impact nearly 50% of Yahoo's ad tech employees by the end of this year, including nearly 1,000 employees this week, the company said.

I use Yahoo Finance, but the stories on the site are hackneyed and Daily Mail-like.
21   Patrick   2023 Feb 10, 10:07am

Me too. For some reason Yahoo Finance is still quite good, while the rest of Yahoo is mostly crap.

I agree. I'm pretty sure actual printing presses are more complicated to build and run than websites are.
