Former Federal Reserve Chairman, Alan Greenspan, told CNBC that the U.S. economy is the weakest it has been since just after the Great Depression. But it’s not the Fed’s fault, fiscal policy is to blame.

It is interesting that Greenspan is essentially telling a different story than current Fed Chairwoman, Janet Yellen. In her congressional testimony this week, Yellen portrayed the economy as strong and growing with falling unemployment. But Greenspan contends, “U.S. economic growth is not strong.”

He's right. Catering to the owner class has made the middle class poor, and without a middle class, the economy is also poor. The Fed can't really do any more to help than its already been doing. The economy has been on life support for 7 years now, all the while the vampires sip from the lifeblood.

Financial media giving this guy a knob job, or even the time of day is disgusting.

He's either a fraud or an idiot. The former deserves an orange jumpsuit, the latter a duncecap.

As I've pointed out in the past, Greenspan began his life with an Austrian School philosophy. He even defended Gold as a means of protecting human property rights.

But no mention of how she turned him?

I might also argue the Friedman did even more damage to the economy with his floating exchange rate blather.
