South Carolina cop charged with murder after video shows him shooting black man dead

White South Carolina police officer will be charged with murder over the shooting death of a black man who appeared to be fleeing from him, local authorities said on Tuesday.

A video of the Saturday incident, in which North Charleston police officer Michael Slager appeared to shoot a man identified by local media as 50-year-old Walter Scott, was viewed by state investigators, and a decision was made to charge Slager with murder, North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey told a news conference.

Walter scott was high on weed when he assaulted that poor policeman, as evidenced by the video

NOT GUILTY!

What you want to bet the cop was on antidepressants?

Hey! IN the hood you're nobody until your likeness is on a a police gun range target.

The guy is running away, not really offering much of a threat to that officer. The gunfire was beyond excessive.

You can clearly see the cop taking the tazer and dropping it by the victim's body. He claimed in his official report he was "in fear of his life" (good Thug Union Rep!).

9   indigenous   2015 Apr 7, 6:09pm

He fired what 8 shots, seems excessive considering that the guy apparently had no weapon?

He did not obey. We can't have too many folks who don't obey authority running around, at least in the lower classes.

So this asshole thought "oh good, he's running away, I get to kill him" and then tried to claim he was afraid for his life. It's second degree murder minimal. He should get life in prison like the thug he is. The arrogance of thinking another person's life is worthless should be considered when sentencing this asshole, but given our system, this criminal will probably walk.

12   Tenpoundbass   2015 Apr 7, 7:09pm

The Video doesn't show the guy told the cop that Obamacare sucked.
That cop only did what any good Liberal would do... You would have done it too!

Too bad the Prosecutors did. And you know Prosecutors don't charge cops unless the evidence is irrefutable. I don't even think the Prosecutor will act as Defense Attorney with the Grand Jury (if there is one).

15   anonymous   2015 Apr 7, 7:51pm

Slager convicted scott, and then carried out his execution on the street. That old sap could barely move, and he shot at him eight times. What crime was he guilty of that is punishable by broad daylight execution?

16   HydroCabron   2015 Apr 7, 7:58pm

It saddens me to say this but, given what some of these videos have shown about police behavior, we are clearly going to have to fundamentally change the rules of conduct in this country. We must ban the filming of police officers.

17   anonymous   2015 Apr 7, 8:00pm

It takes a hell of a pussy, to ever defend these dumb mutt police officers, in the first place. But theres a slew of other things any real man shouls take issue with.

1.) why does a trained professional need eight shots at an immobile target from point blank range, to drop a feeble old man?

2.) why are police officers acting out of fear? Back up on the way, fulley armed militia at your back vs an out of shape old fat guy who is unarmed and running away. Shoot him in the back like a sissy

3.) big government union pensioner, at the prime of his life, with the physical agility of indigenous 's dumb whore mother.

4.) proven liar

Its no surprise hes insta idolized by the likes of a sissy like CiC

The cop has been "charged", but you already have him "convicted"!! Does the name "Zimmerman" ring a bell??

You gave the eternal cop apologist line "Don't Jump to Conclusions". The Prosecutors concluded that they have enough evidence to prosecute, and had damn well better, given the changing public attitude about Thug Unions.

One would hope prosecutors believe the person they are prosecuting actually did something wrong.

Busted tail-light. Shitty, non-union job, can't fix car, town/city/county exploits by especially targeting them instead of DWIs or Yuppie Cunts texting while driving, easier to auction off cars from th working poor who can't afford lawyers and can't afford to pay the ticket, resulting in impound.

Thug Bosses issue lists on which cars they would like to auction off to cops, so they can give those driving those particular models extra consideration. They hold seminars to help cops to decide who to give an extra helping of laws to, if they have something worth auctioning. More seizures = more cash = more overtime and sweet overpaid detail making $50/hr sitting in your car.

One thing we know from the past, if you don't follow the direction of the cop or physically assault him in any way, this is how things can end

You do not shoot a guy running away from you. Pig like this ought to be stoned to death. Anybody is now in fear of their life when they see a cop-this pig will be retired on a union pension. This is not a dictatorship-even though we throw more people in jail than any nation on earth. Pig shoots a man in the back who is running away and that is justified??

Once again, isn't that what the prosecutor thought when she charged Zimmerman?

You remember this differently than I do. I remember the cops and prosecutors not being interested at all in prosecuting Zimmerman after the most surface investigation (with the lead detective thinking Zimmerman was full of shit), and only doing so after immense public pressure.

But the video, which was taken by a bystander and provided to The New York Times by the Scott family’s lawyer, presents a different account. The video begins in the vacant lot, apparently moments after Officer Slager fired his Taser. Wires, which carry the electrical current from the stun gun, appear to be extending from Mr. Scott’s body as the two men tussle and Mr. Scott turns to run.

The Supreme Court has held that an officer may use deadly force against a fleeing suspect only when there is probable cause that the suspect “poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others.”

Looks pretty bad to me. Prosecutors hate going after their partners, the cops.

26   anonymous   2015 Apr 7, 9:06pm

Police are supposed to protect the citizenry. The first time a police officer utters the excuse that they "acted out of fear", they should immediately be permanently barred from any government job, and be stripped of their benefits and kicked from the union. It's unacceptable.

It feels like we're back in bizarro world, where punk ass pussies like CiC who blame the government for everything, rush to defend the union and the State, when the State is clearly in the wrong, committing the ultimate overreach. Executing another unarmed citizen on the street.

27   HydroCabron   2015 Apr 7, 9:12pm

How could any black man be dumb enough to drive with a broken taillight in SC?

28   anonymous   2015 Apr 7, 9:21pm

Common sense tells me you don't go "all Rambo" for no reason at all

What the fuck do you know about common sense?

There's no scenario the cop and his lying fuck lawyer could concoct, that warrants him firing eight shots at point blank range into the back of an unarmed, nonviolent, immobile old man.

What argument are you even trying to make? Nobody convicted the POS cop of anything. People watched the video and saw a big government loving, union leech, execute an unarmed citizen. in the back, as he gimped away. Are you saying that didn't happen?

Now why am I surprised. Murdering liars. No wonder cops want to ban citizens from taking videos/photos.

Why do people keep referring to what the black guy did as "running " away? If you watched that and thought to describe it as "running ", you're an even less athletic slow piece of shit than the likes of CiC.

Now, if you watched the cop panicking after dropping the guy, and saw him flailing about like a little fancy boy, then maybe you were sympathetic to the notion that both these poor souls are un athletic food pyramid eaters. Maybe it made you think of your own pathetic physique, i dont know. But that is yet another mark against the cop, who should be in tip top shape, not the elderly black guy.

39   Blurtman   2015 Apr 8, 7:52am

The murderer walked over to the corpse and dropped what is believed to be a taser. The criminal then reported that the deceased had threatened him with the taser. Surprising that the cop did not carry a drop gun just for this scenario.

The video illustrates the thinking of many police officers - if you do not obey me, I will kill you. The question is, why do they feel this way?

Well killer cops are rarely, if ever prosecuted. if this one was not in video, do you think the cop would have faced charges? Despite the video, looks like some people still support the cop.
