As a former European Automotive correspondent for Reuters, Ive a spent a few years writing about the industry. I will penetrate the corporate hype and bluster and find out how these gigantic enterprises are really doing. I also love to drive their magnificent machines, and their more modest ones. Ill be telling you if the technology works, too.

Self-driving cars are a poor substitute for self-driving privately owned maglifts.

I still want to know how this doesn't eventually put auto insurance and traffic police out of business. Or are we saying self-driving cars would not be infallible, hmmmmm?

And that's why we won't ever have self-driving cars or personal maglifts.

It would also solve road rage.

And the best of all, it would also allow me to fire my Chauffeur. That worthless disposable servant.

Rest assured the power of insurance and oil companies will steadily be chipped away by the new mega corporations like Apple, Google, Uber, and Tesla.
They say "When you invent a better mouse trap, they will beat a path to your door"
I literally got back 20 minutes ago, after test driving a 100% electric car. The cost per mile on the electric car is less than 4 cents a mile. The days of ExxonMobil are over. They can do all they want, but they cannot go up against technology and a population determined to cut down on pollution.

People have been driving themselves since the day automobiles were invented...what's all the hubbub?
