Like I say, I don't know why slobs continue to work in this country when you can get everything for free !
People on welfare get 1100 dollars for kids when they file their taxes and all they have to say is they babysat on day and got paid and they qualify for the working poor fund.
Now Jerry Brown is going to give them an additional 2600 for the working poor.
This means that a person who gets welfare, food stamps and free section-8 housing with 4 kids, instead of the 4400 dollars they get when they file they will now get slapped with a nice 7000 dollar check and never even worked a day in their lives.
Most working slobs don't get back 7000 dollars on their taxes. But those on welfare do!

Agreed - that's why more and more go off the grid or their own way which further erodes the tax base. "Low-income homeowner" WTF?

if you think life on the dole is so great, try it, LOL

top 1% is raping the working people here more than the bottom 47% is, I'll tell you what

though fwiw I think a nordic-style eurotopia can't work here, just going to Walmart or Winco for me here is a reality check on how well the welfare state can work given our demographics and sociological divides.

http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?g=1cnn

shows both the welfare state and the warfare state has doubled since 2000, but the latter has 3X the scale . . .

This btw is an awesome program and we should be doing it at 1000X the scale, and not just rooftop PV -- everything housing related should be aggressively invested in. The better our housing stock, the happier we will be as a people. Real estate is truly the source and sink of all wealth, more the latter though given the supply / demand imbalance.

Hey, if you can be one of the top 1 percent I say go for it. If you have to work just to pay the bills I say "why bother".

When the government are confronted with why are people on welfare taking cash out of their accounts while on Cruise Ships, Orlando Florida, Hawaii, or Las Vegas, they respond only with "we will make it so they can't withdraw at those locations" the real response should be "why are people on welfare traveling on cruise ships etc.

Most americans are too busy working to realize others live better than they do any NEVER work !

"Low income home owners", NOW THAT'S an OXYMORON.

Liberals... Because you're neither approved nor declined ,for their touchy feeley save the world bullshit.

the real response should be

there's always going to be abuse of any welfare -- free money -- program. But how much is significant?

Keep kicking down casandra, while your masters sell the middle class economy down the river.

So now welfare freaks get solar panels. But of course it is an abomination if they don't have the houses to put the panels on-next free houses for 300 pound welfare freaks , free solar panels and us people in jobs have to go clean their houses after our jobs-because we are not paying our fair share.

Hint--trying it isn't posting a bogus chart.

That chart looks OK to me. ?

When I go to WinCo to get my yogurt peanuts and other stuff Trader Joe's doesn't sell, it's the rare person not swiping their CA benefits card.

Family of 5 making $2400/mo gets $300/mo in SNAP. $3600/yr is ~$5000/yr gross for someone paying 25% taxes.
