Blount County, Tennesseeis set to hear a most important resolution this coming Monday. It is a resolution asking God to not destroy the county in his upcoming wrath, as a reaction to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling permitting same-sex marriage. Blount County is promising not to engage in same-sex marriage or homosexual acts, and asks God to please not treat it like Sodom and Gomorrah. When reading stuff like this, it is very difficult to believe that we live in the 21st Century in one of the most advanced countries in the world. This inflexible mindset is being fueled by...

These idiots have got to be the most stupid people in the country.
Were they born stupid, or did reading religious crap make them this stupid.

A resolution for this. So what if two people have gay sex in Blount County-will God wipe the whole county out-Jeez, even Satan is more kind than God.

C'mon, they are not stupid. It is a metaphoric symbolic gesture designed to influence those in charge.
The only question is, do you think Putin got the message?

Could be. They sure are sore as hell. If their goal is to influence those in charge, they should stop making themselves look like idiots first.

If god had any mercy for them, they wouldn't be living in Tennessee in the first place.

Kentucky with the Noah's Ark theme park being built

A friend of mine just bought a house near San Diego - Santee. He meets his neighbor and asks, "What's there to do around here?", who replies, "There's the creation museum! Where do you go to church?"

I think I'm going to check that place out next time I try to ride one till she bucks me and she turns into a stalker. Take her on a "date".

Never realized they even had this in San Diego. Teaching and spreading this kind of nonsense to kids with tax payer funded money should be illegal. A jail sentence is more appropriate.
I would like to visit it though, for entertainment.

According to Fort Wayne they were "edumacated" properly out back by the cement pond and hence are morally right. BTW they have some stiff competition over in Kentucky with the Noah's Ark theme park being built and who are only willing to hire people who believe the flood story as told in the bible.

Keep laughing all you want, I see plenty of comments here with hatred toward religion or anything conservative. Dan never disappoints in that department. But when the judgement day comes you'll have nothing but regrets for not following the ways of the bible. And you know, living a righteous life is better than living in regret later, for day of reckoning always comes to sinners.

Our actions affect others. The only society that survives is the one for which it's citizens care for. It ain't one where homosexuality and government sponsored suicides flourish.

You still don't get it, FortWayne. We do have a society for which it's citizens care for, otherwise changes as demanded by citizens would not take place. We don't want a religious based society, we want a secular society. You may want a society based on Christian values, but the majority do not.
We live in a democracy and a fast changing world, where the values of society are constantly changing. You can't stop it, just let it go.

Which particular denomination would you recommend? Gary seems to think the numbers saved will be rather minimal. He's included of course.

That's where my slapdown was hidden...the rest was just setting up for it.

Brainwashing is a horrible thing.

Are you eating pork? If so,when did Jesus say pork was now "clean" during his life or has he spoken to some in spirit. Come judgement day some will have a "hell" of a time trying to defend themselves.
Stoned anyone lately?

Christians are losing their true moral values. Saudis have more morals then Christians.

20   FortWayne   2015 Oct 7, 1:33pm

You may want a society based on Christian values, but the majority do not.

There isn't a majority on your side. Because if you let people vote in CA, they'll pass the same proposition 8 they did last time banning homosexual marriage. There is your real majority.

You just simply have liberals in all the right government places who are returning favors from election results. That's all it is. You know as well as I do that majority is not on your side. Prop 8 was passed by voters, gay marriage was passed by liberal appointees after Obama put a few people into it. And it'll get repealed just like that once that balance there changes.

When the bible belt is hit by natural disasters we do not get Pat Robertson castigating Christians about making bad deals, these natural disasters are for some reason the result of something someone else did that pissed god off. Maybe they should admit intolerance and speaking for him is what gets god really pissed off? I mean what kind of parent beats you for what your sibling did and lets the sibling alone?

A parent that is a child abuser.

So many religions and philosophies have in common a will or desire on the part of the founder or deity to wipe out most of the human population. It's also prevalent and popular in thousands of books, hundreds of movies, and plenty of TV shows. It's also a major theme of global warmists and atheistic philosophers who believe the human population would be ideal at a solid 500 million or so. This leads me to believe that a desire for catastrophe and wiping out of most people is central to people's natures. After all, we all want more space and more stuff, and the most direct path to that is to kill off most of everyone who isn't in our little tribe.

What isn't obvious, however, is that the human race in all its billions now enjoys a quality of life far superior to any in its ancient or near past. We can do positively amazing things collectively, and even our least important or productive members have a personal power through technology far in excess of ancient kings.
This was accomplished by population expansion, not decimation. As populations expanded, technological improvements have exponentially escalated to the point where our world changes radically (mostly for the better) every ten to fifteen years.

I think this is God's plan. After all, his very FIRST commandment to people was to "be fruitful and multiply."
