They can "reject" austerity all they want, but they will have to come up with their own money to pay for their shit. The only path forward this way is default, clear bad debt and then try to reestablish a "valued" and "trusted" currency. Not an easy task, but that's what bankruptcy is for.

Or they could have some debt forgiven as Germany debt was forgiven after WW2. Of course Germany forgives no debt.

When you figure in how early a lot of Greeks get to retire, that might change the number of hours worked by quite a bit.

Looks like my 20-25% more hours per year was off base, it's actually closer to 50%. Germans get weeks and weeks off work each year as well as a shorter workday.
