This is literally what appears as the first content of their page. It should be considered an insult.
This "project" isn't about teaching girls anything useful. It's about dumbing down coding to make mindless and useless graphics for fashion brochures. That's not coding.
How about teaching data modeling and SQL? Or how to write an operating systems for smartphones that protects consumer privacy? Or programming drone flights? Or even writing a web crawler and indexer?
"Made with code" is pathetic and offensive, and ultimately it performs a disservice to any female thinking about entering engineering by grossly misrepresenting it and the effort it takes to do useful work in an age when all low-hanging fruit has long been picked clean.
I have commented on this ridiculous "coding" meme before. Can someone identify how the whole "coding" thing got started--my first exposure to it was a propaganda piece on PBS newshour where inner-city youth were taught to "code" and supposedly landed well-paying jobs from it.
You know why boys get more computer savvy than gals?
Girls won't spend all night figuring out how browse newgroups, and then download a jpg in 9 parts and finally get UUDECODE to see "Hot Pics of Jennifer Anniston".
Teenage Boys will...
Only to realize at the end they've been trolled by Senator Craig.

Sheesh!
Why can't this bitch learn to make false rape accusations, same as every other woman?
Mod of r/madewithcode bored of it.

Sadly, I don't have time, but I hope that someone does. He and I would like it to go to a good home. From /u/deepsoul13:
I'm currently mod of /r/MadeWithCode in reference to the programming project by google. However, I am by no means a programmer and I would like to donate this subreddit to someone who can actually take it off its feet and do something with it.
I like that Google's project is aimed at bringing new people into the computer science field. My original vision for this subreddit was for it to serve as a discussion board for tips/tricks/questions related to the actual MadeWithCode.
If you'd like to become moderator of it, please let me know. I found you by looking up the oldest mod of /r/programming. Briefly looking through your post history, you seem like a very passive and respectful person - someone I'd trust to do good things with this subreddit. If you'd like me to stay around and help moderate it, I'd be happy to do so. But I trust someone like you would know better what to do with it than me.
Let me know, - Deepsoul13
Apparently the only thing people are doing with madewithcode is 'coding' 3D Printed Bracelets.

Unless they are writing the CAD software or the print drivers, I'm not impressed.
Writing TACL routines separates the men from the boys. Oops, I mean women from the girls.

Want to code? Here is a pager and laptop. Deal with system problems at two in the morning.
