If you see France siding with Russia, you may assume there is slight signal to the US to stop screwing around with ISIS.

It's about damned time they do something without America farting first.

The USA cannot be seen cooperating with Russia due to Ukraine Crimea Syria situations. But cooperation is necessary if nato and russkies jets are in close proximity so France is the conduit for the necessary cooperation to attack isis without the USA appearing to 'give in'.
