Republicans like ID laws, because many poor people (more likely to vote Dem) that don't drive don't have an ID handy (the way those of us with a drivers license and more active consumption do).

THeir supposed concern about fraud is a total lie and everyone including TPB knows that. Gerrymandering the districts so that they can dominate congress isn't enough for them. The interesting thing to me (and the reason we are probably doomed as a species) is that many of these people easily convince themselves that the real issue is voter fraud, just like so many people convince themselves that a Trump presidency wouldn't be too risky, or wouldn't destroy our image in the world.

A state issued ID should be mandatory.
