Just goes to show you why you should not trust the people who are "protecting" us from terrorism. They despise democracy.
It's pretty sad, but 20th century America is no better than the Soviet Union, and for the exact same reasons.
An open and transparent government in which every politician, every spy, every general, and every bureaucrat is held legally liable for his actions is the only way to prevent would-be Hitlers from undermining the morals and principles we all claim to uphold.

The former is surely better than the latter, but the oligarchy seems entrenched and obstinate. Their unwillingness to compromise may wind up costing them EVERYTHING!

I have no conclusions. But certainly when you look at how Wilson was able to use Edward Bernays to change things his way, I shutter to think about what abilities they have today.
I do think that most people's thinking to some degree is manipulated, if nothing else but by exploiting their ignorance.

The ONLY way "change" is going to happen in this country is either a bloody revolution or a civil war.
The problem is that you haven't edjumacated them fast enough. Granted some people aren't going to learn but some might be swayed.

See Gulf of Tonkin, Pearl Harbor, Fort Sumter.
See every peaceful protest ended by police.

They are working towards disarmament of the US population which has the most guns per capital in the world. Don't give up Your Rights. If our government/military/police get to have guns, then the people need to have them too, or just kiss all your so called "freedoms" good-bye.
