Absolutely devious.
--------
WASHINGTON -- Elizabeth Warren is turning the tables on the FBI.

The Massachusetts senator sent a letter to FBI Director James Comey Thursday demanding he release notes and other documents the bureau has on its investigations into individuals accused of contributing to the devastating 2008 financial crisis.

Her argument: The FBI broke its longstanding practice of keeping its investigation notes private when it released dozens of pages of documents related to its investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail server as secretary of state. The FBI did so, Warren notes, claiming it was in the “public interest” to be more transparent in that particular case.

“If Secretary Clinton’s email server was of sufficient ‘interest’ to establish a new FBI standard of transparency, then surely the criminal prosecution of those responsible for the 2008 financial crisis should be subject to the same level of transparency,” Warren said. After all, she noted, millions of Americans lost wealth, jobs, and homes during the financial crisis.

The implication being: Clinton’s e-mail server did not cause such widespread suffering.

Warren made her name in national politics blasting the big banks and their executives for their role in causing the 2008 market meltdown. And she hasn’t let up, continuing to demand blast high-ranking administration officials and bank regulators about why no big bank executives or other individuals have gone to jail for their actions in the lead up to the crisis -- a major sore point on the left.

Warren’s latest salvo in this battle was sparked by the release earlier this year of new documents from the federal panel convened to investigate the causes of the crisis. Warren said her staff found that nine individuals were referred to the Department of Justice because the panel found evidence of possible serious violation of federal laws.

Yet, Warren lamented, not a single one of those nine were indicted or brought to trial.

She wants to know why.

In addition to the letter to Comey, Warren asked DOJ’s Inspector General to conduct “an investigation of the DOJ investigations” into those referrals.

Don’t expect this to be the last you hear from Warren on the matter. She may be broadening her portfolio, but she clearly isn’t abandoning her role as the Senate’s most vicious Wall Street watchdog.

She took curtain number three her "Let's make a deal" show is over.

Should have been the nominee instead of the Wicked Witch.

If Elizabeth Warren were the nominee, no other Dem or Repub would be within 15 points of her today.

Warren's speech at the DNC was terrible. I don't think she would have made a great campaigner. Plus, it's not clear how she would hold up to crazy republican conspiracy attacks. She definitely wouldn't be 15 pts ahead of Trump, unless he insisted on calling her the Indian.

She didn't need to be a great campaigner.

Just not a complete mendacious establishment toady of Big Money corporate and foreign interests.

Unfortunately, that's not true. The Democratic Party machine was able to rig the primary process and the media so that Hillary Clinton got a slight majority of the regular delegates and the popular vote within the primary voters. The same would have happened to Elizabeth Warren who is far more of a reformer than even Bernie. The party insiders would detest Warren far more and would go to even greater lengths to stop her.

That's your interpretation of HRC after the Republican establishment filters have been applied. Your view of Warren would be different if she had run, and other people's views would be different too. There's no knowing what would have been, although it would have been a perfect year for someone like her if she were ready.

Agreed. I'd pick her even over Bernie.

My dream ticket: Elizabeth Warren and William Black.

Hell, I've wanted that for two years.

Oh you think she took what's behind curtain number 2 because she got to Washington and saw everything was on the up and up?

Her whole career has been about finding improprieties and oversight then using her finding to extort her bosses to better her career.
You actually think the woman was ever Senator material?

She was a freaking mail clerk who saw the scam in Alen Greenspan's FED Scheme, and she got rewraded for keeping her mouth shut.
While they nutered any legislation that created any watchgroup oversight optics. The Dod Frank bill was a useless POS, the rework of the FHA loand and the GFE(Good faith estimate) sheet, the myriad of rules affecting payday lenders and other financial services that target low income subjects with some money that they get from entitlements. These are all bigger to day than ever before. The only difference today is there is clear legal jargon that protects these companies from any legal action. All they have to do is have it written anywhere in the universe where anyone can see it or not, that they are indeed crooks and the shaddy way they do business. As long as its on a website somewhere they can get away with anything.

I've hated Hillary long, long, before this election got underway.

Quite frankly, I thought Hillary was so uncharismatic she'd be beaten by a Biden or some Dem Governor in the Primaries.

I didn't imagine the Democratic Insiders would push this turd of a candidate so hard, or that no other national-name Dem would run against her.

Therefore, Party Discipline must take over and the leadership sent a firm signal that this kind of candidate is unacceptable, and they should never dare to run such a turd for President again.

PS James Webb endorsed Trump.

She had the grounhd game of collecting all of the deleages in the pre summer pagent. While other candidates were on display in the display window to be proded and cretiqued. Hillary was no where to be found. She never got pre vetted by the press and the people. Instead she was meeting secretly with the people that would go on to be the delegates and super delegates to fix the primaries for her.
Trump was a Joke and Bush was supposed to be one of her, so it didn't matter if She won or Jeb Bush won.

Trump put his pecker in their fruit salad and made them all lick it.

I bet they wish like hell they ran an honest primary election now.

She's been dogged by the Republican machine for about 2 decades, so you'd have to go back pretty far to claim it was not aided and abetted by false news. I'll give you personally the benefit of the doubt, b/c it's a waste to just tell someone that they are a stooge of the _____. But negative campaigning works, especially at the margins. That's why it is the primary campaign tool that we are subjected to day in and day out. That's why so many people hate Trump and HRC so much and believe so much crap about each.

It's also why Trump's latest surge is likely short lived. He's caught up while HRC took the month off the trail to fund-raise and had some setbacks. That fund-raising was to get money to bury Trump in October/November. If he can't get ahead of her while she is replenishing her war chest, he needs something more. Assange is doing everything he can to prevent Hillary from getting in office and charging his ass. So, there's always that.
