That comes out to be more than one gun for every adult. Half of those guns belong to just 3% of the adult population. These super-owners have anywhere between eight and 140 guns each, with the group average being 17, according to the study. Overall, there are an estimated 55 million gun owners in the U.S.: Most have an average of three guns; half own one or two guns; and the number of guns owned by Americans has gone up by 70 million over that same time period. Meanwhile the number of Americans who own guns has decreased from 25%...

I'm below average :(

Got some catching up to do I guess.

Will the 3%er save us?

I fail to see a problem.

Any idiot that wants to restrict citizens (those who haven't committed any crimes with a gun at least) is a (fill in the blank)__________________

I'll have #2 next month (classic lever action .22), and #3 (CC weapon) by the end of the year.

All I have is my grandfathers DB shotgun. I would have bought a few by now but wife hasn't warmed up to the idea, hoping visits to the range change her mind.

Yes, but is this blatant gun-ownership disparity caused by global warming, poverty, bigotry...?

Just go do it, she'll get over it. My wife just rolls her eyes now when I bring home another new toy or the UPS guy shows up at the door with a delivery.

I understand her concerns they mostly have to do with the fact we have small kids. When I grew up my dad had a bunch of rifles and shotguns it was never a big deal and I never touched them, she just grew up in a different environment. It's one of those things we both have to be 100% in agreement on.

So true..

My wife didn't want a gun in the house.... so I just went out and grabbed what I wanted after trying to discuss it rationally. Taking her into consideration, I took a 6 hour safety/range course and brought my son with me. We now shoot at the range at least once a month and she's totally cool with it now. She even went with me one time.

It took a month or two, but the fear factor will wear off - especially if you educate your spouse and your kids.

Title is misleading.

Anyone who has met one particular individual I fraternize with knows that 1 American owns 50% of the guns.
