5. Pacing and Leading: Trump always takes the extreme position on matters of safety and security for the country, even if those positions are unconstitutional, impractical, evil, or something that the military would refuse to do. Normal people see this as a dangerous situation. Trained persuaders like me see this as something called pacing and leading. Trump “paces” the public – meaning he matches them in their emotional state, and then some. He does that with his extreme responses on immigration, fighting ISIS, stop-and-frisk, etc. Once Trump has established himself as the biggest bad-ass on the topic, he is free to “lead,” which we see him do by softening his deportation stand, limiting his stop-and-frisk comment to Chicago, reversing his first answer on penalties for abortion, and so on. If you are not trained in persuasion, Trump look scary. If you understand pacing and leading, you might see him as the safest candidate who has ever gotten this close to the presidency. That’s how I see him.

So when Clinton supporters ask me how I could support a “fascist,” the answer is that he isn’t one. Clinton’s team, with the help of Godzilla, have effectively persuaded the public to see Trump as scary. The persuasion works because Trump’s “pacing” system is not obvious to the public. They see his “first offers” as evidence of evil. They are not. They are technique.

And being chummy with Putin is more likely to keep us safe, whether you find that distasteful or not. Clinton wants to insult Putin into doing what we want. That approach seems dangerous as hell to me.

Why because he finally feels safe enough that Trump will win and will be shielded from the power of the Liberal beat down repercussions.
He's been for Trump since day one, he just had to sugar coat and preface every thing with "With all due respect Establishment... but Trump this and Trump that..."

It's the only thing I ding him for, everything else he's been spot on. Other than feeling like he's the only in the universe that sees in Trump that the other 50% America already sees.

2   FNWGMOBDVZXDNW   2016 Sep 25, 4:00pm

Yeah. He says crazy shit, but that's ok. He doesn't mean it. I know what he really wants (what I want), so it's ok. He just had to lie to the rubes to get in power.

3   Ceffer   2016 Sep 25, 4:13pm

I'm so relieved. I just thought he was a psychopath winging it.

This sums up everything. Every Trump supporter believes he/she has a secret deal with him. Trump is an ideal empty vessel.

Both candidates are lying, but only Clinton has the past terrible actions. Actions mean mountains more than words.

Like if I told you to fuck off here, you'd shrug it off as meaningless(well everyone except morons like Marcus who take the interwebs seriously), but if I socked you in the face on the streets you'd actually be physically harmed and is probably go to jail.

Again, that is only part of the issue. It doesn't matter if Trump has great policies (like on healthcare) or not, the left is simply too dangerous for joe sixpack to vote for. If you're a woman you can still vote Democrat as you may benefit from the last push of 3rd wave feminism, esp. if you know how to outmaneuver men in the workplace using the law, or getting a hefty divorce settlement. Same goes for member of the LBGTQ spectrum. If you're a minority you have to check if you're part of the right minority. But for any straight white, or non-Muslim Asian middle-class to upper class man to vote left is like shooting yourself in the foot. There is simply no alternative for you. Scott Adams figured that out a while ago.

Different people have different reasons. I'd say Adams has pretty good job security and doesn't care much about TPP, but he may get mobbed out his income by SJWs, so there's an angle for him.

how is this vastly different than the obama hope/change 2008 scam? not enough to go bonkers over, that's for sure.

12   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Sep 25, 6:36pm

How many banksters did Obama imprison? When did Glass-Steagal reinstated? Why are premiums and co-pays going up double digits with Obamaney Care?

I'll take a risk on an Empty Vessel versus a Proven Lying Warhawk and Dog Whistler.

Because those on Obamacare are getting world class healthcare at third world prices. Someone has to pay, and it ends up being everyone else through their health care costs.
If we are gonna provide health care for everyone, which i am a supportive of, it should be basic and affordable. Eg. generic medicines only. Necessary surgeries only, nothing optional. No viagra. No sex change operations. etc.
Obama meant well, but he screwed up.

14   lostand confused   2016 Sep 25, 6:51pm

3. Party or Wake: It seems to me that Trump supporters are planning for the world’s biggest party on election night whereas Clinton supporters seem to be preparing for a funeral. I want to be invited to the event that doesn’t involve crying and moving to Canada.

Come over to OC/San Diego. We will celebrate like crazy.

Exactly! People always fall for a politician pretending to be a superman. While I don't agree with many of Obama's policies, he is vastly more level-headed than this guy.
While Obama fooled many progressives with NDAA, SOPA, PIPA etc., he is nowhere near killing the progressive movement. OTOH, Trump has been just feasting on the leftover carcass of conservatism. Those who complained about Obama's dictatorial tendencies, you ain't seen nothing yet.

You have that backwards.

Strategist says

No viagra. No sex change operations.

In Thailand, those cost a fraction of what they cost here, and even here the rarity of the latter and the limited or non-existent coverage for both makes this a phony wedge issue. If you want to know what's driving premium increases, then look at fraudulent hospital admissions, entrepreneurial overutilization, and nosocomial infections. Nobody goes to a hospital for an emergency sex change or Viagra, and nobody gets sold either on the basis of a false test result. Sildenafil (brand name Viagra) was patented in 1996 and should be generic and OTC by now, pennies a pill. Publicity shills present these distractions to fool you and get you fighting over a tiny fraction of a percent of premiums, so that you don't notice who's robbing you and how.

You are right though that insurance should only cover true emergencies, and I would add vaccines should be distributed freely as a public service. Neither major party proposes that, because both are trying to get you to overpay as much as possible to their patronage networks.

The Republican party campaigns on distractions rather than solutions, and starts deficit-driven wars to expand the empire of debt. Donald Trump was actually their best or least bad candidate. Unfortunately, Lucifer the Canadian Cruzader stacked the convention with horrible delegates, forcing Trump to pick Mike Pence for VP. That costs Trump his home state of New York, and many others.

GSR, Obama's job was to run down the clock on the statute of limitations for financial crimes. One of the key distractions was pushing for Obamaney Care to deliver more revenue to insurance companies when he should have been reinstating Glass-Steagal.

He prosecuted more people under the Espionage Act than his precedessors combined.

Why, in the heels of a financial crisis, was Health Care the priority? Distraction.

No more lesser evil, no more brakes, turn this ship around.

Crooked Hillary said stuff to Goldman Sachs employees, but I'm not sure what. I just can't trust her.

Trump says a bunch of stuff that's truly un-American and foul, but I know in my heart he doesn't mean it.

He loves me. He is strong and will protect me.

She was paid $225,000 to speak at Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs was fined $ 5billion for having committed massive fraud, including while Hank Paulson headed up the firm.

Wall Street fraud crashed the economy, ruining the lives of millions of Americans.

Why would a presidential candidate take $225,000 from a criminal organization, and instead of castigating the organization, praise it?

We should therefore vote for Trump, whose only qualification is that he's not Hillary.

Problem is, Jose Canseco is just as qualified in that sense.

28   anonymous   2016 Oct 2, 6:51am

Too bad he's not running! We get what we got and that's a choice between an immature tweeter and the wicked witch of the west. I think I'll steer clear of the PROVEN evil in favor of the candidate who is simply a bumbler in great need of good advice. Trump takes advice fairly well, and has a marvelous ear for exactly what the American people want out of him. Contrast that with Hillary or Obama who can't be bothered to notice if the peons are happy with their rule.

31   zzyzzx   2016 Oct 3, 6:28pm

I think 2016 will be the year Hillary is personally responsible for obesity in America. Everyone is scared of going to the gym.

32   Sharingmyintelligencewiththedumbasses   2016 Oct 3, 6:31pm

"Hillary is terrible. you can believe me. just terrible. the worst" seriously, I sit in disbelief listening to the shit he says, never a leads to b, never a policy, never a plan. IN 3rd grade I had more coherent thoughts and sentences.

and then, there is the "I'm not going to talk about bill's cheating. Cause I'm taking the high road, and not talking about his cheating. his cheating would be rude for me to say" And his followers are just so stupid, they don't see what he just did... talk about the exact thing he says he isn't going to talk about.
