Marcus, this recapitulates your perception of the deplorables:

"Never in modern presidential politics has a major candidate made false statements as routinely as Trump has." Here's your grand "revolution": nothing matters, so vote for the douchebag who says all the whacko stuff. Since everything is an MSM lie let butthurt and anger be your guide. Because "the scope of Trump's lies is unprecedented, and he is dogged in refusing to stop saying things once they are proven untrue" he is the one candidate that makes you think of yourself.

"Buzzfeed unearthed an audio recording showing that Trump backed the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq and a 2011 video in which he called for swift military action against Moammar Gadhafi, then the leader of Libya. In the months since then, Trump has lied dozens of times on both issues, saying he opposed the use of force in Iraq and Libya."

Marty Kaplan, a professor of entertainment, media and society at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, has two theories on Trump's lies.

Perhaps he's just putting on an act, like P.T. Barnum — a "marketer, con, snake-oil salesman who knows better, knows how to get the rubes into the tent." Or maybe, Kaplan suggested, Trump is just "completely unconstrained by logic, rules, tradition, truth, law."

"I'm confused," he said, "whether the whole fact-free zone that he's in is a strategic calculation or a kind of psychosis."

I'm not sure about Trump, but with many of his fans, I'm pretty sure it's the latter. THat is they really think Hillary is more dishonest. TPB, supposedly a programmer of some kind, will tell you straight faced that politifacts comparisons of Hillary's versus Trumps honesty is some kind of propaganda. Now again, he can handle the logic of programming, but he apparently thinks that there is no such thing as facts ? Or that facts are whatever he wants them to be ? And that if a reputable newspaper compares a lie someone says to how far it is from a fact, that this is something they can easily and totally lie about (although he would never even try to find an example).

Maybe it's not mental illness. Maybe he get's paid to write his nonsensical comments. That would make a lot more sense. But who knows ?

When a voice born of privilege and nothingness speaks to the desperate and the bitter, his words need no substance if they resonate with bitterness. Everything is wrong; everything is rigged; everything is a lie. It's not just "this or that" that's wrong, it's everything. To assail everything, saying anything is permitted, and embracing the abandonment of truth is required. It's a hope derived from a scripture of hopelessness. It's truly horrible. At the heart of Trump's bigotry is nihilism.

If anyone is paying TPB for his comments, then they really need to ask for a refund.
