So how did it go? Based on how the talking heads at the Clinton News Network sound... I think Pence must have done really well. Like Pence won the debate.

I don't know about that. But he seems like an emotionally stable and good person, so he definitely goes a little way towards offsetting the way most ( non-blind) people see Trump.

Kaine got the job done for Hillary too though.

They basically got it right. Kaine came off less likeable but more intelligent. Pence came off likeable and connected well. So Pence won. But from my perspective, Kaine came off very well informed, on top of issues, and a very capable guy. Hopefully he helps fire up the base. I doubt this changes the overall polls much.

I don't understand how the polls change much at all over the time after the conventions. Who are all these people that flip back and forth from trump to Clinton and vice versa? What is it that changes their minds?

I don't know if most of it is people flip flopping or more or less people choosing not to answer or people moving from one side to undecided or back.
