They are still Americans. Nothing wrong with them. We will build a better future tomorrow as one United people. No more liberal race baiting.

Serves them right. They should have considered the possibility of a Trump administration when they threw Bernie and his supporters under the bus.

At least Bernie has the balls to admit he's a communist. Trump and Clinton are communists posing as capitalists.

Socialist and communist are two entirely different things. If you think we should have a publicly financed military, you're a socialist.

I tuned into NPR this morning for kicks. Hilarious. The anchor had a hard time saying "Donald Trump won."

Communism is a dirty word in this country, so people like to say socialist. You show me a single communist country that funded the military privately.

Communism and socialism mean entirely different things. That's why they are different words. If you equate the two, your opinion does not matter because it is based on willful ignorance.

NuttBoxer says

My point exactly. It's literally impossible to run any society without socialism, so opposing socialism is advocating literal anarchy.

Funding the military, the police, fire fighters is socialism. Having a highway transportation system, a public sewer system, and a public electrical grid is socialism. Society would be impossible without socialism.

Anyone who thinks socialism is inherently bad is a fool.

Socialism is simply the economic tactic of paying for large costs across groups that benefit from the goods or services being provided. It makes economic sense. The only question is exactly when and how to use socialism. Only a fool would advocate banning socialism.

They had plenty of ethical candidates to choose from, but they chose the unethical.
What the fuck were they thinking???

Bernie would have been EASY to defeat. All Trump would have done is keep saying Venezuela, over and over and over again.

I don't think that many people in this country are as confused about democratic socialism as you are. You're not alone, but not everyone is so simple

Feel free to keep lying to yourself. Hillary lost because she was an establishment candidate in an anti-establishment election.

Like the Hillary supporters, you are underestimating the impact #BernieOrBust had.

Bernie has an 85% approval, as a Senator in a Senate with an 11% approval rating.

Bernie has a plan to fix healthcare (do away with private health insurers as they are completely unnecessary), and that alone would have been enough to get him elected.

Parlayed with all his other stances, he would have crushed Trump.

Maybe. The "frail old guy who is a commie" attack would have been strong with dark overlord Trump. I wanted him in too ... but with Bernie, I was a single issue voter really: put Citizens United in the cross hairs.

There are more of those sad faces than happy around the nation and world right now.

The nation tips toward conflicts from the extremes now, more than ever. There are brave faces and talk from the leadership. I do not see this healing well at all. It would have been this way with Clinton too. These are not the unifying candidates we were looking for.

Trump likely regrets his four years by the end of it.

As long as you admit to being wrong. As to anarchy, this country was founded without a standing military(see private), and defeated the most powerful empire in the world with volunteers who went home in the middle of the war because they had put in their year and needed to tend to their farms. Didn't your mom ever tell you, too much socialism rots your brain!

I'll concede the communist socialist contain differences argument. I hate when people water down language by saying two words are the same. Communism is a more controlling form of socialism. Glad I didn't mis-speak and water down Colonial Sanders, Jillary Clinton, or Ronald McTrump's positions by calling them mere socialists.

I have no problem admitting I was wrong if someone shows good evidence that a position I took was wrong. I won't stay wrong because upon hearing compelling evidence, I'll change my position immediately. I'm not married to any idea.

However, you have given me no reason to believe I'm wrong about anything I've said in this thread. But hey, go ahead and convince me. What exactly am I wrong about and what evidence do you have to support your assertion?

35   Tenpoundbass   2016 Nov 9, 8:24pm

Concede? Not good enough. If you want me to respect your opinions about either communism or socialism then you should be evangelizing that the two are completely different things. This is not something you can brush off as a minor and subtle difference, some technicality.

You are entitled to your opinion. You are not entitled to the respect of others if your opinions are founded on ignorance, misinformation, or misunderstanding. If you want me to take your opinions about ideas seriously, you must demonstrate to me that you thoroughly understand those ideas.

=========================

If you remember one of the leaked Podesta emails, Bernie may have been complicit. Something about the "deal they had." That would explain his Zen-like response to all this when anyone else would have been pissed as hell.

The citizens of Venezuela are not starving because socialism is inherently bad. If that were true, then the citizens of America would be starving just as much. Social security, medicare, the army, the roads, the sewers, the police, the fire fighters are all socialist programs. Your assertion that socialism causes starvation is empirically false. The fact that you would assert such a ridiculous thing is a huge red flag. It is also the most grotesque example of oversimplification I've ever read.
