Bangor Maine police sergeant provides a little “advice” for those who receive a Facebook friend request from an unknown woman:

1. Go to the closest mirror.

2. Look at yourself.

3. Give yourself an honest review and realize that there is no reason in the world that an attractive lady from the Philippines wants to be your friend.

4. Return to the computer and delete the friend request.

5. Continue looking at lawnmowers, motorcycles and jacked up trucks that are for sale in your region of the country.

6. Realize that you just saved yourself from showing the world what no one really needs to see, and a whole lot of cash.

“This is a scam and you will look stupid being shown around the office doing something that you really cannot take back,” Cotton posted. “Once it is out there, we can do nothing for you.”

The Bangor Police Department issued a warning on Tuesday to “avoid doing very private things in front of a webcam” after a handful of people reported that women they met on the internet were trying to blackmail them out of money.

They have gotten more clever recently and pose as old white men and women.... take a look at their page and realize they're just trolls, mostly from India and Russia

Try having a honest conversation with a Russian Troll, it's actually funny

I like talking to the call center in India that claims to be the IRS.

There was blast IRS/Treasury phone call out I think 2 years ago... Such a strong Indian accent saying that the IRS and the Treasury needed to contact me and to call this number

I told the gentlemen, I work at the Treasury, who ordered this .... then asked him what is the address of the treasury department

Business Insider had a Putin Article questioning American exceptionalism that Putin didn't write obviously... But I got first dibs to say Putin F--- Off

Most hate mail and trolling.. well that Russian troll remembered that comment...

Such hacks they're over ...

They have their own Zero Hedge their they took a article of mine once and they were pushing the hate for Bloomberg financial

Logan, I couldn't quite follow that train of thought fully ... but high five. :)

Just so you don't have to go read the article to understand the sequence of events:

“Once the individuals are friended, the new and lovely lady requests that you do things in front of the camera for ‘her,’” ...

“As soon as you take part in this grand adventure, the ‘lovely lady’ sends you a message that you will now need to send her between $300 and $600 American dollars,”

For those who say no to the blackmail, “the ‘lovely lady’ turned ‘scorned vixen’ uploads your new found fame to many, many of your Facebook friends. You know, the real ones"

Might be interesting if you send them pics that are not of you. I would send pics of my cat doing something close to what they asked for, as a goof.

I like that, gives me an idea! Just do a search and find embarrassing pictures of someone else, say... Anthony Weiner. Send those, and then just have an excellent time playing with them. Assuming they don't recognize Anthony Weiner (good odds of that, given that they are probably from Russia or India) then just go back and forth, saying you'll send the money, then not sending it, asking for more time, dragging it out forever.

When they finally send they pictures, it is they themselves who will look foolish.
