Pay the rent or eat is the question for 10.5 Million Americans •  Disabilities, race are factors About 10.5 million American households, or roughly 8.9 percent, reported that in the past month their access to adequate food was limited by a lack of money and other resources, according to new 2015 American Housing Survey statistics from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Census Bureau.

That makes sense, cuz you know, when you plop down $60k on a mortgage down payment, you have so much more money for food. Or when you have to replace your water heater, instead of just calling your super, so MUCH more mon... Man, I can't even get up the energy to come up with a really good sarcastic comment for such a ridiculously unsubstantiated correlation. This NRA sponsored title deserves better.

It's not ridiculous. If you are poor and on food stamps, you are most likely to rent and be insecure about food.

Of course renters are more likely to be food insecure than homeowners.

Poor people rarely own homes since they would have to have downpayment money, good credit, and a track record of steady income. If you don't have those things you are more likely to be food insecure than those who do...
