Hamilton was written for people of color to play these characters. It is not reverse discrimination anymore than Hooters is reverse sexism. technically, they made a mistake in calling for non white actors. They should have called for people of color and it would have been perfectly legal. It is like Hooters calliing for a certain body type. Also, many of the parts were for whites. It was part of the script that called for actors of color for certain parts.

Sad that many Trump supporters are so ignorant about the world.

There is no such thing as reverse discrimination. Just discrimination.

2   Blurtman   2016 Nov 19, 8:38pm

If Hooters called for a certain white body type, I suppose the analogy would hold.

You are being stupid. Let's say that the script calls for southern slaves. Generally white people would not be cast for those rolls. Well, this Hamilton is as if black's were the founding fathers. It is in the script, Einstein.

The casting call was not for a black person. It was for anyone but a white person. I imagine Lin-Manuel Miranda had to provide proof that he was not white. According to the CIA Factbook, there is a 76% chance that he is in fact white.

So? Now you are just picky. Whites cannot play a minority, just like whites cannot play slaves in historical dramas. Were you born stupid or have you developed it reading Breitbart?

I know you are not stupid, but Breitbart is making you numb to logic.

But Blacks can play a Medieval Danish Monarch from a Shakespeare Play?

The script was written for them to do so. That is the whole point of the play.

What if there is a movie about Martin Luther King. Can a white man play that role?

If it were written in the script. I don't know what circumstance would result in a script like that but you never know. Charlton Heston was not Jewish and he played Moses.

So, I have a thread here showing Bannon is both pro Zionist and antiSemitic. Makes you want to puke, doesn't it Strategist? https://patrick.net/Trump+and+Bannon+Are+Anti-Semitic+and+Pro+Zionist

I warned you Strategist.

What?! Send me a photo or illustration of a Black Danish Monarch, please.

The kids have the market for "acting out" their perceived world.
When the adults do it, it's discrimination against children...

Do you know if the casting call said non-Jews only need apply? You seem to be missing the point entirely.

If the role of Moses was open to all actors, and a non-Jew was given the role, that is not discrimination. If the roles of Hamilton were open to all actors, and a non-white was given the role, that would not be discrimination. Ask a friend to help you reason through this.

Maybe this can help:

Discrimination: 2. treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination.

Not sure but I suspect Gary may have been referring to Othello by Shakespeare

Yup.

The Black Hamlet thing has been done many times, apparently, including an all-black Danish Hamlet:

I pity the fool Yorick, my niggah.

If an All-Black Hamlet is okay, let's make Roots with an All-White cast.

Starring Joaquin Phoenix as Koonta Kintay.

If it were written in the script.

In which case it won't be realistic.

Anyway not sure it would be a full fledged version of Roots but if you wanted to do something that is as close as you can get to that without having to drag race into it - you could do the story of the Miners in Northern Michigan or actually most of the immigrants from Ireland, Southern and Eastern Europe who came to this country during the late 1800s and early 1900s and ended up in factories and the like. They were not much better off than slaves until the Unions got some clout.

I'd like an historical mini-series about the millions of Whites sent into Slavery by Ottomans and Muslim Tartars.

Or one about Corsicans, Sicilians, French, etc. whose town is raided or ship captured by Muslim North Africans... they were doing so well into the 19th Century.

But only Blacks were slaves in Hollywood and in SJW land.

You still don't get it do you?

How about forcing big people to play the parts of little people? This is the deal, the part was written from the view point of a black man being a founding father. Why is that so difficult for you Thunderlips? I think you need a checkup.

So, what? If you just want realism you don't need any theater. Just look at real life.

They admitted they made a mistake saying non this non that. They just should have advertised people of color which is perfectly legal if it is in the script that it must be played by people of color!

I think your brain cells are dying Blurtman. You are brainwashed by the alt right.
