http://www.marketwatch.com/story/amazon-to-create-more-than-100000-full-time-jobs-in-the-next-18-months-2017-01-12

Amazon.com Inc. AMZN, +0.62% said Thursday that it will create more than 100,000 full-time, full-benefit jobs across the U.S. over the next 18 months. The new additions will take the U.S. full-time workforce from 180,000 in 2016 to more than 280,000 by mid-2018. The new jobs will be nationwide and cut across functions from software developers and engineers to entry-level positions, the company said. Most will be in fulfillment centers currently under construction in states including Texas, California and New Jersey. Amazon says it has created more than 150,000 jobs in the U.S. over the past five years. In addition to job creation, the company said more than 9,000 employees have taken advantage of the Career Choice program, which pre-pays 95% of tuition for a variety of courses. Amazon shares are down 0.2% in premarket trading, but are up 29.3% for the past 12 months. The S&P 500 index SPX, -0.75% is up 17.4% for the last year.

It will be a cold day in hell before I buy from Amazon, and long to live in a world where Amazon is the only job in town.
17 hours a week max, minimum wage while some lying Liberal scumbag pats himself on the back about the 100K of jobs he created.
Fuck that, fuck Bezos the clown and Fuck Amazon!

That is the opposite of MAGA!

If this company can create 100K shitty jobs, then that means they are also killing at least 20K small businesses that would collectively would hire 5 times that amount.
And put ten times as much back into the economy.

Drop dead Bezos, hang out with George Soros until the Russian hitmen find him.

I don't think working at Amazon is the types of jobs many people want. Poor corporate culture and abusive toward employees. That's what I read all over...

If they can employ 100K people then it would compete with the 100K small businesses our country need to be great again.

This Libtard Bezos had 8 fucking years to employ 100K. I would love nothing more than for Amazon to go the way of Petsmart.

I have a friend who was in management at Amazon for five years until something happened and he had to quit. He wouldn't recommend the job to anyone he likes, if that means anything.

More and more people will buy from Amazon. Price, variety, and convenience. Amazon has it all.

It's not. I had an offer from them 5 years ago at one of their datacenters. The pay was shit, and the number of hours you were expected to work was terrible (if you valued your time). I turned that garbage down.

Pricing on Amazon isn't always particularly good. That and eBay as price, variety, and the same convenience without having to order $50 to get super slow shipping.

Just heard on CNBC.......Taco Bell is on a hiring binge.

If Amazon is hiring 100,000+, then more than likely other retailers are laying off. It's not like the existence of Amazon causes people total spending habits to change significantly. I doubt this is even net gain. It's part of the ever changing retail cycle.
