So the answer of the article is "no," because colleges are turning the next generation into NEW bigots!
True.
And NPR inflames racial divisions all day long every day. That seems to be what they exist to do.

What about the way schools try to paint only the most comfortable portrait of every culture? From the naive students point-of-view, culture is merely a combination of traditional dress, dances, foods, and songs. The deeper and more uncomfortable bits are ignored or over emphasized.
In the modern world we are pushing cultures closer and closer together. Never have so many disparate ones lived in such proximity - and skin color is an easy and lazy way to associate a person with one. In that scenario, the vast majority become mutts, and the death of the pure "breeds" brings peace, right?
Except then the rich will be the ones affording 200 year life spans and DNA modification, while the poor are stuck serving dinner. The tan-skinned old man of 55 serves the young tan-skinned handsome man of 85 with the perfect bone structure and full head of hair.
I would be surprised if Lord Gottrocks the Third doesn't ensure, via DNA meddling, that his children don't have certain looks (and even skin color).
In the end, I just hope that Dr Seuss was right about those Sneeches.

It can be so very confusing to Leftists to observe the oppression of brown people by other brown people. They're all like, "Where's the rich white guy making him oppress his fellows?"
When the truth is that people are all the same no matter their color. What divides us is culture, especially those "uncomfortable" bits you mentioned. I think we could all do with fewer of those, no free passes to "minority" cultures to continue bad cultural behavior simply in the name of "multiculturalism!"
So I was reading this on NPR. Patrick is right, they have an undeniable bias toward race-baiting these days. It's sad, but the article did reveal a truth though I'm sure it was unintentional.
It starts with a white woman who grew up in an integrated Chicago community and decided to start a family with a black man over some opposition from her mother. Now she has two biracial daughters and the author interviewed her and one of those daughters. This middle aged mom believes that integration and biracial kids are the answer to ending racism. The 22 year old daughter is now college educated, identifies as a black woman, and tells her mother she's hopelessly naive about race. People can't get along because of all the history! Duh!
What I learned was that college is CREATING new bigots, despite the best wishes of their liberal parents. Ethnic studies of every stripe encourage kids to hate and understand how different they are in every way from people who don't look like them, and how hopeless integration is without massive reparations!
So the answer of the article is "no," because colleges are turning the next generation into NEW bigots!
