The point of the article, is to show that some supporters, even on the alt-right side of the coin, now are starting to question if there is meaningful substance behind Trump at all.

Are you implying that white power movements are on the rise? Also are you tryin to make the case that many white power supporters are people of means? I haven't observed that personally, maybe you have links showing the demographics of 'white power' types.

Yes, ignorance and poverty is the soil in which gangs and radicals grow in, but I seem to recall that the majority of Saudi nationals responsible for 9/11 and other radicalized muslims are often educated, far more so than 'poor white trash'. Also, surprisingly, many radicals don't come from poor families.

Those self identifying as white nationalists may be small, but the populists have preyed upon the feelings of isolation, and fear, of the older white isolated populations. This is why it is relevant. Those feelings themselves appear, for some people, to be betrayed by the incoming figurehead they voted for.
