Look up some the historical great raids during the world wars or other conflicts. If anything, they are proof that history is far stranger, and amazing, than fantasy.
As a CIS Jedi, I am triggered by this thread. I think you should use the bathroom that corresponds to your midichlorians. Those with lightsabers in one room. Those with tauntauns in the other.
So As I sat through the latest installment in the franchise, I found myself sort of bored. Not with the visuals or effects, but with the story itself which was so utterly ridiculous and unrealistic that I couldn't apply it to any sort of actual human events that have happened or ever could have happened. Fantasy works best when it uses very realistic characters in unreal situations to tell an allegory. But this one was unrealistic characters in an unreal situation to tell a story about ...loss? Self sacrifice? The most cohesive thing I could see was the tired old "good vs. evil" narrative that underpins so many classic fantasies. Overall I just thought that an enormous expense and massive amounts of time had been spent to tell a story which did little to change or uplift its viewers. After all the hype, this was just disappointing.
