This story illustrates why almost no one should ever buy a house in a city. Permitting, while it sounds nice, is just an excuse for the city to poke you in the ass, while they do the reach around on your nutz, and take you to poundtown for wanting to add an extra sink in your bathroom. Realtors being able to half-ass a remodel, and people being so brainfucked thinking that they HAVE TO BUY, they miss shit like doors that can't be closed. And as AF mentioned, the fact that you have to use a third party, who hides everything from you in order to increase their earnings. What other industry operates like this!?
