I'm pretty happy with Trump so far. He's doing what he said he would.

Amazing that such a statement is controversial.

He just answered like 42 questions at a press conference when the average for Obama was 8 questions.

He's right that the press is out to get him no matter what he does.

Russia is a manufactured conspiracy by desperate entrenched powers who see their supply of easy money and power being cut off.

He should build that wall, and no, I don't want more immigrants from any of those majority Muslim countries. Yes, he absolutely has the legal right to restrict them from coming here.

Go Trump! Do not give an inch!

Isn't it more important how he answers them than how many he answers? And the press conference was 77 minutes long...

It's not as if he doesn't give them any ammunition...

I'm not sure how you can say that until the full facts come out. What has come out so far seems to be cause for concern.

I'm impressed that he makes a real effort, even if some of his answers are evasive. That's normal for politicians anyway.

He has this petition site and keeps even the hostile petitions there: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/

Is shouting SUCK! MY! DICK!, FAKE! NEWS! CUNT! 42 times at reporters actually answering their questions?

They continuously editorialize about Trump rather than report about him. He's absolutely right about that.

Wish I had a link, but just this morning I read an AP story that started "In an effort to distract the public from his chaotic first few weeks, Trump spoke to Boeing..." or something like that.

WTF? That is not news but pure editorial pretending to be news. Is he not allowed to even speak to workers without it being slammed?

The mainstream press in the US fucking sucks. They should be ashamed of their utter failure to be reporters lately.

Fact: The only countries that have no suicide bombers are the ones that never let any Muslims in.
No matter how carefully Muslims are vetted, they will end up breeding terrorists sooner or later.

Except he himself does that with his constant "fake news, fake news" comments. You complain about the press... well, you should complain about your President wasting so much time on that, on how many electoral votes he got, etc. etc. There are rather more pressing things for him to focus on than him needing to massage his ego.

I'd pay to see such a press conference.

no one works harder than Trump. it's saturday afternoon and he's streaming a live weekly update on Facebook.

he has a passion for fixing the country.

to Obama, it was just an opportunity to increase book sales.

to Hilary, it was just something her friend Soros and those at Goldman Sachs talked her into.

8   FortWayne   2017 Feb 18, 7:53pm

Media on the left will bash him no matter what, so I expect that.

I also am of mindset that he is doing a great job thus far.

9   Rew   2017 Feb 18, 7:58pm

Amazing what some are willing to ignore, when they believe they are getting what was promised, just because Trump claims they are 'doing so much' and making things 'great'.

Russia is a manufactured conspiracy ...

There is significant cause to investigate, three concurrent investigations ongoing now, so manufactured or not it's looking pretty bad.

It's hard to know what financial benefit Trump may be getting. Like birtherisim, I think it is only dispelled when you show the hard proof.

Trump will need to release his taxes. He has nothing to hide, right?

Still in the minority with that opinion. I'm sure the pep rally gives him a boost.
Lasting? Very doubtful.

Yes, but his actions obviously feed into that.

If he forever and eternally blows political correctness to smithereens that will in itself constitute a successful presidency.

I voted for him. The more you get to know how AMERICAN he is....the more you like him.....If you are not consumed by evil that is.

If you are not consumed by evil that is.

"consumed by evil" --- those critical of Trump
"enemies of the American people" --- the press

That's some language beyond all reason there. Wow.

Patrick, I tend to agree.

I wasn't sure what to expect with him assuming the presidency but he's come out guns blazing and I'm equally content with what he's done so far (as we saw with Politico's executive order polls, it looks like the vast majority of the USA agrees, but you'd never believe it by turning on the TV).

It's very discouraging, too much news today is reported from an angle, with an agenda. As a consumer of news, I just want facts. But very few media outlets offer that these days.

Fortunately, the American people, for the most part, seem to be aware of the difference. And the more the media slams him, the stronger he seems to get.

An observation: I recently got a new iPhone and as many of you know it comes with a "news" app. I noticed that I kept getting articles overwhelmingly from WaPo, NYT, and CNN. I thought, why the hell? I went into the settings and saw that these were "favorites" by default. I thought to myself, now why in the world would those particular outlets be default on my phone when I've added no conscious input myself...

Because that's what the oligarchy wants you to see.

I don't know Patrick. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/02/break-on-through-to-the-other-side/517098/

The two parties are corrupted by corporate/wall street greed and politics (for-the-sake-of-politics), and Trump has been very clever to identify some glaring shortcomings of both parties, acceptance of illegal immigration and 'free-trade' exploitation of labor and the environment. However, Trump is a false prophet. There's a reason that Trumps picked corporate types and wall street types to help him run the country.
