Want to show some evidence that he clarified this talking point multiple times? He repeated this totally false claim for months on the campaign trail. He repeated it again at the roundtable meeting of sheriffs on Feb 7th. I'm wilfully misinterpreting trump's meaning because he repeated time after time that the murder rate is the highest in 47 years which is totally false? Did you really say that? Seriously? I'm sure he has said it correctly a few times, maybe even as far back as the second debate. But which is it ? Is it that hard to keep something as complicated as a "highest one year increase in the rate" in his mind ? Or is it that the simpler (and dishonest) version just sounds so much better to him ? Either way it's bad. It's either an indictment of his intellect or his honesty.

Quoting something that Trump has said many times exactly as he said is honest reporting. The fact that he has on occasion said it correctly is beside the point. In fact in my view, it makes it more questionable, considering the number of times he said it wrong.

Why do you defend him so much ? Is it just that you like the underdog, even when the underdog is evil ? Yes, that's right evil. Anyone that lies as much as Trump (especially to himself) is in my world by definition, at least potentially, evil.

At some times he seems incredibly bumbling and stupid. I call these his "Tommy boy" moments("He's just a big dumb animal, folks!"). And then he turns around and does something that makes me wonder if all the bumbling was a front to make his enemies overreach as they see weakness and attack. Either he's unspeakably cunning when it comes to media and manipulation of a hostile press, or he's the luckiest sonofabitch ever. Some psychologists have suggested that this SJW madness is a result of kids growing up in daycares while their parents both work and drop in to helicopter parent whenever the kid got an owie.
This doesn't explain why different races can't seem to get along now. I would imagine that most classes are fully integrated, giving kids exposure to all different types of people from the youngest ages. My daughter's daycare class has as many different colors of beautiful kids as any sampling I've seen.
