Strange they're using Russian hosting. I know my VPN provider recently pulled their russian servers because of security/privacy concerns.

LOL the only country on Earth that is not full of Globalist schills that can't be compromised to shut down WikiLeaks.

LOL Indeed! America stood for something in 2008.
Don't worry guys we'll get it all back.

You know I can't speak that there is no motive to hack Russia.
But I would bet you a couple Million Bucks, that Putin hasn't spent the last 8 years, getting rid of Competent professional assets, and replaced them with Liberal Arts Majors with a varying array of psychological issues, sociological issues born straight out of the Liberal education system. Our State department government under Obama was full of retards. They were sharing Classified information, and since they got rid of the more prudent generation that kept up protocol and security on how they collect data, and how and when they have access to it. If it's anything like most IT shops these days. It was a freaking free for all, everybody has the admin password "admin123" for everything.
Shit like this didn't leak before Liberals threw confused snowflakes into the mix. Those people eat each other, there's no unity. You have one faction pushing and agenda and everyone comes along for the ride to find an opening to "bring awareness" to their issues. Eventually when the opening doesn't happen, they fight worse than anyone. Their feelings and opinion of you drives and dictates their morals. Like how they handle the intel presented to them. I mean you have people who's job it was to be a troll on the internet. That's not healthy, eventually you will create people that shouldn't be trusted with classified intel. An internet troll will eventually say anything to prove him self right.
Putin doesn't have spiteful little Child like shits running his Intelligence department. That's why so many people around the world respect him.
Putin's intel dept aren't incompetent morons who are on a SJW work program.

Recently unsealed records reveal a much more extensive secret relationship than previously known between the FBI and Best Buy's Geek Squad, including evidence the agency trained company technicians on law-enforcement operational tactics, shared lists of targeted citizens and, to covertly increase surveillance of the public, encouraged searches of computers even when unrelated to a customer's request for repairs.

Nice. But Assange is still Putin's bitch.

11   Tenpoundbass   2017 Mar 10, 1:27pm

No if I were going to host something that Obama unilaterally decided he didn't like and have taken down. I would put it on Russian servers as well.

12   Dan8267   2017 Mar 10, 5:32pm

Americans should be embarrassed that Wikileaks isn't hosted in America. It makes us look weak and pathetic, a society incapable of dealing with a free press. How cowardly is that?

13   CBOEtrader   2017 Mar 10, 6:26pm

LOL @ liberals who are still stuck on the Russia narrative.

Hell, this very site was almost shut down merely for linking to a corporation's public home page (Primitive Logic -- there did it again). So it makes complete sense that Wikileaks would have to turn to Russian hosting for 1st Amendment protection.

America is not particularly tolerant of free speech. Copyright claims keeps the censorship apparatus well oiled and ready to go.

I replaced the ip address you put in with domain name and got completely different results.

Why is that? Russia doesn't have much of a rule of law or any kind of legal protections. There are a lot better choices. Iceland has the best privacy laws with a number of encrypted services like unseen. Kim Dotcom is talking about moving mega file there. Norway is also a very strong privacy. Runbox, juttabox, are out of Norway. Swedish provider Brahnhof claims it hosts wikileaks, which seems really odd with Assange's legal troubles in Sweden and Sweden is part of the EU (Norway is not).

wikileaks.org has 6 dns entries
Domain Name Server: 95.211.113.131
Domain Name Server: 195.35.109.53
Domain Name Server: 95.211.113.154
Domain Name Server: 141.105.69.239
Domain Name Server: 195.35.109.44
Domain Name Server: 141.105.65.113

Traceroute shows 95.211.113.131,94.211.113.155 in the netherlands, 195.35.109.53,195.35.109.44 in norway, 141.105.69.239, 141.105.65.113 in russia. Looks like some hedging bets on wikileaks part. So they do server out of russia, but why and how much who knows.

What's the chance they are all mirror servers based on the information he has, in case one gets taken down in a certain country?

I'm sure wiki has hundreds of mirror servers, These ip's are in the DNS data base which get resolved from the name wikileaks.org. The 95.211.113.131,94.211.113.155 addresses in Amsterdam Netherlands are registered as the primary server. Not the Russian server addresses. http://whois.domaintools.com/wikileaks.org

That makes a lot more sense. As I mentioned private internet access VPN recently removed their Russian server. If the country was so privacy loving, I doubt that would have happened.

There is a more than a grain of truth to this. US Government positions are full of Humanities and Liberal Arts degreed individuals. They are not very good at problem solving. I worked for Lab once, and this was not the case, but this was the exception.

Lots of malinvestment, we need to have 50% of the agencies with Comp Eng, Compsci and Science degrees. Liberal Arts has not really contributed to much to humanity in my workings with 100s of them. I would love to see someone show me I am wrong.

22   Y   2017 Mar 17, 5:41am

Actually the USA not hosting wikileaks makes us look strong and secure.
A society capable of dealing with leaked truths about itself without the ability to censor.
Just imagine if the USA hosted wikileaks, no clinton email scandal, full propaganda leakage for Benghazi coverup support, etc..etc...the list goes on and on.
You think you have fake news now?
