No longer holding any government office, former President Obama can now legally receive speaking fees and tourist junkets from places that want to be associated with him. If it's a working trip, during the school year, it makes sense that he would go on his own, maybe with a smaller security detail and consequently less disruptive footprint than a family trip might require.

If you could find evidence that the trip hadn't been planned in advance, then the timing might raise a question, but most likely he and his team had arranged this trip a month ago. He'll probably pose for photos with hotel staff, meet and greet some VIP guests, get photographed doing some tourist resort extras, maybe give a speech, and get paid, all legally. This may be one of the better revenue models for a popular former President, mainly social, probably harmless.

I'd be interested to see how the Chicago-based AHA (Hospital Association) and AMA (represents fewer than 20% of doctors) show their "appreciation" for Obamneycare increasing their lemon socialist revenues at public expense. If you can link something showing they're paying him speaking fees and junkets, or something like that, then go ahead.

Otherwise, it amazes me the crazy things that each major faction is willing to believe about the other. Pizzagate, the Russians are coming, lions and tigers and bears. That's how the game works, bread and circuses, divide and misrule: crowd dynamics promote ever crazier lies on each side, keeping the majority distracted. CBS did an interesting story on fake news, noting it exists on both "left" and "right", and fools especially college graduates on the "left" and 40-50yos on the "right". Each faction gets lost in its own echo chamber, gravitating to the most extreme demonizations of "the other" side.

So when the US bombs Mosul and inadvertently kills hundreds of civilians, they report it (which actually just happened). Kind of like the US media reports it when the Russians bomb ISIS rebels in Syria and kill some civilians.
It's just a war of words meaning very little.

Is Obama hiding in French Tahiti? The best I can say is "maybe." The timing and duration of his stay is suspicious, especially with news coming out every day on the issue and additional discoveries. A guilty man would run. And he would have to be extradited from a country that doesn't have any love for Trump and probably wouldn't release him. Meanwhile he's hanging with his pal Brando.

This wasn't supposed to happen. Hillary was supposed to win and this wasn't supposed to ever be investigated. It was practically a sure thing! All the bookies had her way ahead as well as all the polls!

If President Obama had been even slightly worried about prosecutions, he could have pardoned everyone in his administration and then retired a day early so that VP Biden could become POTUS and pardon him.

I wonder if certain players within the deep state might be trying to drive President Trump to do something like that, so that VP Pence can take over and escalate their war against Russia in Syria and possibly expand it to Ukraine.

Two questions:
1) considering the long history of Clinton investigations including at least one special prosecutor, why do you suppose President Obama didn't pardon the Clintons? I had thought he would do that in December or January.
2) why do you suppose President Trump is escalating the Saudis' wars in Syria and Yemen?

No, the Clintons needn't even formally accept the pardons. He could say that he felt fed up with partisan investigations and decided in the interest of unity to pardon them. They could say they did nothing wrong, they don't want pardons, they're insulted, they could even demand he rescind the pardons, and none of that would matter.

He said he wouldn't change his formal application procedure, and the Clintons didn't apply. Previously, in a different context where he did the opposite of what he had said, it was reported that he had "changed his mind." So, it's conceivable that he might have "changed his mind" again, but I haven't seen any reports of it in this context.

Actually he split on March 10th and zig zagged his way to Tahiti talking to lawyers, picking up pocket cash, and wrapping up some business in NYC, Omaha, Silicon Valley, Hawaii, and finally landing in Tahiti. He's running from a huge drug seizure which occurred while he and Michelle were in the Caribbean on vacation. Yep, a boat called the Lady Michelle sailed from Saint Vincent with 4.2 tons of cocaine on board and got stopped by the Coast Guard. The paper trail leads straight back to the Vice President of Venezuela and Obama along with the CIA and a dozen TSA employees. Everything can be found in the Washington Post and NY Times accept for the Obama connection to the brand new billion dollar airport and the Venezuelan who planned it to be a logistics hub for the world wide drug trade. If Obama doesn't show back up in the US after another week or two, it would be a good guess he isn't coming back home alive since his carelessness cost the drug cartels over a billion dollars in losses due to drug seizures since January 20th and the VP of Venezuela got sanctioned by Trump on February 13th just before the Lady Michelle was interdicted on February 16th.
