Hi guys,

I work in account management and my responsibilities include writing and reviewing many contracts.

It got me thinking that there are a lot of things out there that I need to take the time to read, maybe everyone should read. Let's get some recommendations for things patnet users think are must reads:

1.) Constitution - I've been lazy and have planned to pick this up and read it for years but so far never have. I would be willing to bet 99% of the country has never read this

2.) IRS Tax Code - Yes it's boring but it has massive financial implications and I need to pick it up and read this at some point.

3.) CA Penal Codes - Again, I've lived in this state for 33yrs and have never taken the time to read state laws.

Let's hear some others. What are some absolute must reads for people?

3 books.
California RE Finance (Bond)
California RE Practice (Herd)
California RE Principles (McKenzie)

After reading those 3 I realized just how integral Real Property functions as an additional form of currency and how laws are created to grant exemptions not enjoyed by any other kinds of property.

Here's my favorite line (These are my own personal Cliff notes)

"HISTORIC IMPORTANCE
Broken down into use and occupancy.
Early inhabitants were Native Americans who were governed by tribal rights covering hunting and fishing.
Land was respected as it was the source of survival."

How things have changed...

All 75,000 pages? My time is better spent paying an accountant to know the tax code and reading only the narrow specific sections that apply to me so I can double check.

Seriously, 75,000 pages? Scratch that idea then, lol. I didn't realize it was that long.
