Trump Flips On Five Core Campaign Promises In Under 24 Hours

"Blink, and you missed Trump's blistering, seamless transformation into a mainstream politician.

In the span of just a few hours, President Trump flipped to new positions on several core policy issues, backing off on no less than five repeated campaign promises.

In a WSJ interview and a subsequent press conference, Trump either shifted or completely reversed positions on a number of foreign and economic policy decisions, including the fate of the US Dollar, how to handle China and the future of the chair of the Federal Reserve."

#IfYouVotedForTrumpPutaQuarterInYoAss

1) China is not NOW currency manipulator (as of today)

2) US Dollar is NOW too strong (as of today)

3) NATO is not NOW obsolete (as of today)

4) We need to remove Assad from power (and let ISIS have another territory)

5) Federal Reserve and Janet Yellen are bigly GREAT (what with Goldman Sachs surrounding Trump with its sucubus and tentacles).

I could go on and list the rest, but it's rote.

Suffice it today, the swamp drained con-man Trump, Trump has even NOW turned on Bannon, while giving power to the Goldman Sachs-Kushner-MIC neocon/globalist wing,

Enjoy the new boss, same as the old boss, while Ironman (in his DC/Marvel superhero underoos) keeps fapping to Trump's constant, unmitigated lies and bullshit.

And Patrick, self-alleged patron of free speech and anti-PC messaging, please do keep erasing threads, just because (insert whatever lame reason/justification here).

What threads is Patrick erasing other than ones that are adhominem ?

you can find your adhominem comments here: https://patrick.net/adhom_jail.php

It's an alternative to having to ignore people, that is just sending the comment to comment jail. In other words argue a point without calling names, or put Thunderdome in the thread's title.

Btw, you're 100% correct about Trump. Four more years of this is pretty terrifying.

2   Tenpoundbass   2017 Apr 12, 2:24pm

Trump sends you Clowns chasing the wrong mailman every time.

He be delivering special packages to us all the time. While ya'll chasing decoy messengers.

There's been a ton of reversal. The top down policy isn't as draconian, you can sense that in every day to day operation. The out right "Fuck America and the Crackers" mentality that was in Management styles, Bureaucracy, HR, Terms of service is reversing faster than a tsunami. He's already cleared so much shit out, you just don't even know.
I find it odd, that in the last two weeks an openly Trans coworker who almost everyone had to tolerate his snowflake attitude and an angry Turkish employee were let go. For the last year worked here and I had to wonder if there were some tax perk for filling a quota. As of last week they are no longer with us.

BLM riots have stopped, George Soro's terror organization isn't working in America undermine democracy with impunity, the media is starting to get respect for law and order again. Deviant media Filth programming is falling flat on its face. Without the Left propaganda institution in place, "Empire" can't be presented as the most important piece of Art to come out of America. It's reported it has next to no steady viewers.

You know shit has changed too, you just don't want to admit, you were enjoying watching Rome burn.

Why the hell would you think that Patrick would delete this thread? Patrick is one of the greatest believes of free speech, perhaps even to a fault as he tolerates way too much trolling. Your assertion completely contradicts Patrick's character.

Really, these are the biggest objections you have of Trump? That he's finally acknowledging reality now that his handlers have brought him under control and groomed him? And yes, he's being actively managed by the party insiders. You can tell they are turning him into their puppet by the way he speaks on Syria and on the policies he rubber stamps. He knows he has no real power now. I don't think he cares as long as he can continue to embezzle from the taxpayer and use his position for personal financial gain by giving his businesses corrupt advantages.

Trump is now receiving support from China and NATO to fix the problems. Therefore a strategy reversal is appropriate.

The red line was crossed. Strategy reversal is now a necessity.

Congratulations Trump for quickly fixing some of Obama's failures.

First of all, there is a new plan agreed to, to balance the Trade Deficit. Do you remember any President in the past 20 years who ever did anything more than oratory about this problem?

To avert a trade war with the United States, China has reportedly agreed to provide concessions to the inbound products and services from the United States. After holding a two-day meeting, the administrations of the US President Donald Trump and the Chinese President Xi Jinping have agreed to a 100-day plan aimed at increasing US exports in China in order to reduce $374 billion trade deficits in goods with the Chinese.

Analysts are encouraged by the fact the US is choosing a path to improve trade balance rather than limiting imports from China to the United States. Both, the treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin, and the commerce secretary Wilbur Ross said that the Chinese officials have agreed on the need for a more balanced trade relationship. Mr. Ross said, “They expressed an interest in reducing their net trade balance because of the impact it’s having on money supply and inflation……..That's the first time I’ve heard them say that in a bilateral context.”

A breakthrough. Keeping the RMB artificially cheap is not effortless.
http://www.econotimes.com/China-and-US-agree-to-100-day-plan-for-fair-trade-634774

Again, you start with an extreme position, threaten unilateral action, scare the piss out of the other side, and eventually you end up somewhere in a middle position. He's said this 100 freakin' times in 2016. Maybe closer to 200.

He never said NATO was obsolete, but that it's focus was and specifically said NATO needed to focus on Terrorism. European Countries, led by wealthy Germany that is so flush with cash they're lavishing billions on Rapefugees, needs to meet the minimum 2% Spending requirement. Again, the tough talk led to fear, which led to willingness to make concessions.

He's also getting China to pressure the North Koreans
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/11/world/asia/trump-china-trade-north-korea.html

And successfully, too, with China refusing multiple NK coal ships from docking
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-northkorea-coal-exclusive-idUSKBN17D0D8

And yes, he's exacerbating a wedge between Assad and Putin. Putin has already said (before Trump was Inaugurated) he's not "married" to the current regime.
Again, this is more tough talk to get concessions: Russia abandons Assad but is allowed to continue influencing Syria, which goes through a slow, managed transition instead of a Saudi-Qatari violent insurgency or "Shock Treatment" via a Coup as in Ukraine or a rushed new Constitution with no debate as in Iraq.

Trump lost the popular vote but won the electoral college vote by getting a huge swath of the interior of the U.S., including many low-education whites who hadn't voted in years, to believe his bullshit about bringing 1960s-era America back.

His campaign promises were a literal snake-oil slathered, unicorns & rainbows, magical elixir sales pitch worthy of PT Barnum, to the ears of these people (like Ironman).

Hillary is a complete'scumbag of the highest order, and American Politics has devolved into a false choice and kabuki theater regardless of who is propped up by TPTB, but Trump will fail to deliver on on any of his nonsensical rhetoric (and certainly not draining the swamp, balancing the budget, building any wall, reforming the tax code, or making healthcare better - he'll make it much worse for the majority of Americans).

Trump is a corrupt motherfucker who really is a bankrupt businessman whose enterprises were bailed out by Russian and Chinese sovereign funds (via state owned lenders).

We're going to have an economic crisis at least as bad as 2008-2010, and probably worse, on Trump's watch.

1 punitive strike in Syria didn't "fix" anything. Globalist cucks (like me) and the mainstream establishment like it because it returns American foreign policy toward "humanitarian interventionist" leanings.

Trump's most successful two days in office, amid an absolute shit storm of disgraceful embarrassment, are his very typical/boring speech to congress, and his "greatest hits from the 90s" style cruise missile strike on Syria.

We have nothing else, because this is an administration at the whim of the moment, with no overarching policy direction for the nation.

The smartest? The best? No. Quite the opposite Trump administration... believe me... believe me.

Trump isn't playing some 325th dimensional chess that mere-mortals cannot comprehend. He is only after brand and ego. He is rarely the smartest guy in the room, if ever, now.

Two Months -

1 With opposition from both fake wings of his own party - RINOs and the Koch "Freedom Caucus" Wing
2. Opposition from the opposition party
3. MSM that flat out called for "Not normalizing the Trump presidency" and has been chasing chimeras since he was elected.
4. Absolutely no Honeymoon Period - which is really "unprecedented" and dangerous for democracy. Any other president would still have until the summer, with mostly positive coverage.

Ironman surrenders. Trump cannot save shit. Obama may have laid the groundwork for what is to come, but it was precisely because he saved the economy from Bush's complete nightmare.

Further, I'd state Trump isn't even working on any of the real issues that hamper the economy right now.

How many of those simple down-home people are going to be pro Trump when the great unwinding happens? Very very few. Obama and Hillary are in the rear-view mirror now, despite however many times tRump and his talking heads want to pull them back in front.

This is Trump's shit show now. Own it Trumpets.

Tenpoundbass says

You see sedition. I see people desperately trying to save the institutions which make us America.

Government waste, or over stifling regulation isn't the blame here. You can begrudge bailing out the "too big to fail", but it is kind of like complaining we saved the whole plane, instead of just the seats. We need to build a new plane. Trump's working on that, right?

Right, and after 8 YEARS (instead of 2 MONTHS) where is the economy, besides bouncing along the bottom?

I think you are looking at the charts in the wrong way. This is a top. It may not be a top for wages or the middle/lower class bank accounts, but if you have ANY investments at all, you have experienced a 7 year run-up, in most cases.

This is insanely peak-ey feeling. (see first graphic below!)

Ironman says

At least you're consistent on which side to blame.... what a surprise!!!

A surprise that Bush lead us into a financial disaster, Obama hail-marry saved us with an uneven recovery (but provided a stable/if sluggish economy), and now Trump inherits weak positive growth but hastens a retreat by blunder and general ass-hattery ... yeah. That's the actual story.

It's nothing that will last. Trump is riding Obama's run up still. There is no substance there. Trump isn't doing anything to address any of the major domestic issues we have, or the imbalance in the economy, which you and I agree is present.

You can continue to defend him as you like, but it seems you don't think he is a savior at all, so I'm not sure what it is you voted for? Looks like you like ineffective cardboard in the shape of a President to me.
