It's the former. The moon landing did happen. A few of the engineers who worked to make it happen got token specks of dust as a token of appreciation, you know stuff that geeks would like but most people wouldn't give a shit about. But it turned out that a few obsessive collectors were willing to pay big bucks for such tokens, so now the greedy asses at the FBI are trying to make like the woman or her husband illegally obtained the speck so they can profit instead.

It's not illegal to possess, sell, or buy moon rocks or any other space junk as long as you or the seller didn't steal it, and that's the case with this granny. The FBI were simply using asset forfeiture laws to steal property because the worthless junk ended up becoming a collector's item. Those agents should be locked in jail for at least ten years.

Whether or not the moon landings occurred, there was a lot of staged, falsified shit associated with them. "Moon Rocks" that have been given to foreign governments by NASA have been found out to be fakes. One in Scandinavia was found to be a piece of petrified wood. There have been "moon rocks" already on earth, presumably blasted off by impacts and landing on earth just like other meteorites and "mars rocks".

Yes, really. Your quote confirms exactly what I say. There is no law prohibiting the sale of space material that you legitimately own. Stealing federal property, or in fact, stealing anything does not allow you to legally sell it though. If you take a piece of a blow-up space shuttle then you are stealing property. If you legally obtain a moon rock, then you can certainly sell it.

Just because a rock originated on the moon does not mean that it is automatically the federal government's property because it is a national treasure. Moon rocks land on the Earth all the time when asteroids hit the moon and kick up debris. You can have a rock tested to see if it comes from the moon as the chemical composition and physical signs of impact reveal its history.
