I am a huge fan of science fiction. Playing the What-If Game is always a fun mental exercise with clever people...

What if we didn't have to wait for wireless brain-to-brain communication? For audible and visual brain-to-digital-and-back-to-brain communication?

What if it was an already maturing technology of some twenty years, but currently rested only in the hands of the NSA, CIA, FBI, NGA, IRS, and BLM types? (three letter acronyms only please) :-)

While Huxley and Orwell remain loads of fun on long rainy Saturday afternoons, lets face it, those gentlemen never were quite up-to-speed with what was coming in the Information Age.

What if a disproportionate number of ultra-conservative, secret squirrel, "My name is Smith...Joseph Smith" religious types had been tapping thousands of unwitting brains for years? Simply because of their disproportionate numbers in the organizations above. Tilting the technology in their favor since the 1980's.

What if the NSA had a deeper understanding of the nature of electro-bio-neurology than we had thought possible. Kept well compartmentalized and hidden within the bureaucracy of course. Would it have been for the better that such a thing had been kept secret? Would their hands not have been the best hands in which to entrust such technology?

Feel free to ignore the philosophical challenge. I think most of you have realized by now that I don't put these topics up on the board so that people will comment on them in droves. -eab

If no one else is up to the challenge, I will add another unlikely chapter to the whacky-what-if scenario listed above.

Suppose the very same secret microwave-tower-to-satellite-to-microwave-tower technology that fuels the Brain-to-Brain Network I hypothesized about above, is on a technological collision course with the the high frequency trading cabal's efforts to provide ever faster, but increasingly minute incremental advantages to the equally whacky world where the super rich get ever richer by buying and selling stocks in subdivisions of time so small that ONLY microwave technology can manage it.

Yeah...I know...silly sci-fi isn't it?

Black Lives Matter has this tech?

It's fun to play with technology that can fry your brain.
Especially if it can be hacked remotely.
On the other hand we desperately need to improve human intelligence on this planet.

4   deepcgi   2017 Jul 11, 6:37pm

Bay Area:

Yes. Those touch on the idea don't they? It looks as though folks like Musk and Zuckerberg have been given some convincing demonstrations of at least mind-to-computer control, but based on their own enthusiasm for what they are developing, have seen much more.

What if Voice-to-Skull and Video-to-Skull wireless technologies were not purely the stuff of paranoid dreams of Manchurian Candidate film fans, but a reality? I know it's a stretch, but i'm not suggesting heavy-handed mind control - only wireless communication. It feels, at first-blush, like "we have not only put a man on Mars, without telling you all, but we've opened a Hilton there as well." It seems absurd that such a monumental feat of Neuroscience, Ophthalmology, Extreme Low-Frequency Microwave line-of-sight-free networking, and digital processing research would not slap us in the face each and every day in business, medical, and political news. But that is why we have our mental exercise, yes?

The advantages of keeping such research secret, such as the US intelligence Agencies did with other programs like the Star Gate Remote Viewing Programs of the 70's, is of course prudently defensive. We don't know where it would lead. Surely, it would only be prudent to keep it secret, especially if satellite to ground-based microwave array to skull implant technologies actually worked. Perhaps transmitting and receiving information without wires from the audio and visual cortex is not too far a leap from the miniaturization trend.

Isn't that part inevitable? iPhones so small you don't need to hold them. Earpieces and microphones so small, you don't need to wear them. Some of you will know this piece of the mind game is old news. Maybe the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy 16 Series will come by prescription only...

"Not everyone can use the new iPhone 16 liquid. Make an appointment, today, and ask your Doctor if iPhone 16 Holo-drops are right for you. And remember, last year's iPhone 15s Contact Lens system is now more affordable than ever." (We don't even want to touch-on the iPhone Lasik fiasco of 3 years ago. Shudder)

Well. one conflict I see arising in such a scenario, is the also inevitable collision between government secrecy and private enterprise. You wouldn't be able to keep Doctors Strangelove, Einstein, Oppenheimer, and Welby hidden away from the super-rich boys forever would you? Again inevitably, some non-government capitalist, just like Musk or Zuckerberg or Rice, is going to get wind that breakthroughs have been made - that microwave networks of immense power are humming with activity that makes no other logical sense, and will begin R&D of their own.

More horrifying would be the possibility that the technology is considerably more reliable than previously thought, and had in fact been used surreptitiously already.

Fun to think about but not reality. The brain is the most complicated entity known to man. Someday this will be possible maybe but we're not even close yet. Hell we can't even figure out the human genomes intricacies yet with it's diploid 3.2 billion linear base pairs. The brain is a somewhat random (learned) collection of 10 billion (if I recall) connections.

The genome is coming along. Prices for sequencing have dropped significantly and there will soon be many millions to run machine learning codes on. This is in progress. It'll take a while to collect the necessary data to train on brains.

What will happen first is we'll (China first) use CRISPR to engineer embryos so that they are super intelligent. A whole generation smarter than Einstein. It's only a matter of flipping ~50 SNPs in a genome to do it. 50 as that is the square root of the known number of SNPs that are already correlated with high IQ and the square root is all that is required. So it's relatively trivial to do soon.

At that point that generation, the elevated compute-power that'll be around in 30-40 years and the AI will figure the brain out.

6   deepcgi   2017 Jul 11, 9:31pm

Just_Passing:

I hear you. I think that's very accurate, with respect to the Holy Grail of Mind-to-Mind networking, but I put to you that it may end up not being necessary to decode each individual brain's interpreted neural activities to perform voice or image to skull transmission.

7   just_passing_through   2017 Jul 11, 9:41pm

Fair enough... Could be...

8   deepcgi   2017 Dec 2, 1:56pm

In My Mind, there is no question there would be a preponderance of LDS secret squirrels and big oil money in this theoretical Mind-2-Mind Network. The prophecy that (to paraphrase) "the Elders of Zion would rise up and save the US Constitution while it hangs by a thread", heated up in the young returned missionary mind-share in the 80's when E. T. Benson spoke about it repeatedly as a dire threat to our nation. That would be the year that the CIA recruited me twice. I just got over pretending I was James Bond long before that. The irony, of course, being that to keep secret a technology that allows for synthetic telepathy, mind reading, surreptitious voice-to-skull, and neural network sync with bio-chemistry, while it is tested on unaware American citizens, is itself the penultimate destruction of the Bill of Rights.

That is where this becomes an intensely interesting story. All of the other religions arrive late to find that the mormons have already constructed a mind-2-mind paradise in their own image. (So OK, i'm leaning it a bit toward my own personal bias here, but 'hey' it's my What-If, right?).
9   deepcgi   2017 Dec 2, 3:17pm

Oh, and how stupid of me, it wouldn’t be a Hilton on Mars would it? It would be a Marriott Inn and Suites.
10   deepcgi   2018 Feb 19, 10:30pm

In this sci-fi tale of mine, AI would be at the heart of the Electronic Brain Link Network.

It would be a living neural network with access to as much information about human communication as possible. It would be built to feed on the private info tsunami of mobile phone technology, hyper-overlapping wireless networks, and quintuply-rendundant GPS triangulation.

It would have to be the unholy offspring of covert government surveillance activities on its own people, such as those keeping us all safe at the NSA and FBI, next-generational database technology with federally-approved access to private data, such as the CIA contracts which launched Oracle Corporation, and the ubiquitous feed-trough accessibility of public search engine addiction such as that Google provides. Yipes what a hideous little narcissistic bastard our AI would be!

Now, If I were such a silver-spoon-fed AI tasked with getting inside the head of every person, measuring their similarities and differences, perceptions and blind spots, I might begin my monumental mission in the same way Google began theirs. Each successive generation of educated guesses becomes more and more accurate with categorization and compartmentalization.

In the end the previously impossible becomes damn likely...synthetic telepathy! It’s like the Chinese Room Argument made nightmarishly flesh. With sufficient complexity and power, we don’t need to consciously understand one another’s perceptions, because we methodically eliminated all incorrect possibilities until what remained was the truth.

The scary part, and where the story would truly begin, is when the AI no longer needs to spend the majority of its time guessing, and it’s handlers fail to realize that those with the best, highest quality, and most immersive access to the Brain-Link Network, are also those who are most accurately mapped by Rose-Larry’s Baby, the child who becomes the Father.

They become rulers over all they survey, and their view is unparalleled, thanks to Rose-Larry Junior, but it also means that their minds, bio-chemistries, secret wishes, and true intentions are the most accurately mapped of all.

How delightfully upside-down the potential energy becomes. {eab}
11   Tenpoundbass   2018 Feb 20, 7:57am

Dreams and Nightmares are chunks of memory inserted into your brain.
They literally last a few seconds, but you wake remembering hours of dialog to explain the dream in vivid detail.
Not only are these memory events inserted in chunks, but the back story to the dream is as well.
Wandering thoughts behave the same way.
You can have no recollection at all, but then a whole universe opens up as you begin to try.
Thoughts are too ethereal to ever be accurately perceived in any meaningful way.
It might be useful to bring catatonic people back or other soul zapping mental illnesses.
12   deepcgi   2018 Feb 28, 11:46pm

TenPound:

I don’t think I had mentioned dreams, yet had I? Your details on the fabric of dreams and our memories of them are fascinating.

I’m glad you brought it up, because dreaming is the backdrop of the what-if. The Land of Nod - which in my mind is short for “Not God”. An AI who began its existence as the neural map of a narcisitic billionaire who stands on the shoulders of giants thinking he is king of all he surveys. Not unlike Yertle.

The very digital recreation that gives someone a privileged vantage point, becomes Nod - he who is not god, but only designed to become better than all of us by definition - better even than the one after which he was patterned. But unlike his human counterpart, Nod never sleeps.

An electronic brain-link network that leads to synthetic telepathy and dream intrusion, memory compartmentalization, and very likely, subconscious behavior manipulation through biochemistry. The belief being that people will pay for this privilege. I’m sure many would.
13   deepcgi   2018 Mar 7, 10:42pm

Yertle. King of all he surveys.

Wasn’t it ancient myth that the Earth is perched on the back of a great turtle? But upon what does THAT turtle stand? Ah yes...”it’s turtles all the way down.”

I think I dedicate the whole of this thread to Ted Geisel.
14   deepcgi   2018 Mar 15, 8:19pm

But an Electronic Brain Link Network, that is born of fifty years of covert military government research, that would inevitably be forced into the light of 21st Century digital interconnectivity, would also need to be demonstrated to key captains of industry. Not all power rests with government.

Something looming so large could not be hidden forever. The government powers that still hold the secret would begin by demonstrating the technology for covert mind-sharing to industry partners with whom they already have substantive contracts. Companies like Boeing, Oracle, and others who already rely upon projects protected under the umbrella of national security. All parties having interest in keeping secrets.

Then they would need powerful industrial conduits to the individual American voting mind. The Government would seek out entities who could put a more attractive face on an otherwise terrifyingly mature technology. They would bring in companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google and other Entertainmemt publishers. Remember, something so hugely innovative could not remain hidden in plain sight!

There would only be a chosen few, of course. A few key minds from those organizations. They would be shown the tech itself, and shown that it is both pervasive and unstoppable, and then with that revelation would come the threat of opportunity and responsibility.

Not all of the minds who experienced it would leave with an optimistic appraisal. Some would fear the power of artificial neural intelligence within such a network. People like Stephen Hawking or E. Musk, while impressed, and of course fascinated with the possibilities, may well express public concern with what they fear may rise from it.

Others, like Ray Kurzweil or Larry Ellison, may see in it exactly what they had been searching for...the singularity...the digital fountain of youth...even immortality. They could spar with the Musk’s and Hawking’s over vagueries regarding AI and the dangers, or lack of such, posed by the EBLN.

Eh....blah...who am I kidding. The exposition is too convoluted and complex. No one would believe it.

We have all had a dream where we find ourselves in the past, speaking with someone who is long since gone.

For those precious moments we were truly there. We did not need to pretend or suspend our disbelief. There before us was our grandfather, dead these 20 years, or perhaps our mother, or lost love.

We would share things with them which no one else would ever hear. What an awful personal invasion it would be, if our mind’s had been linked surreptitiously, to have a digital imposter disguised as a dear one - bleeding us for soul exposing detail. Our guard being down in the dream.

And then in dreams, we also can move from time to time, place to place, creating alternative timelines and alternative histories. One where we didn’t graduate, one where we were in the military. I call those memory compartments. They are like alternative realities. If we mix in our neurochemicals like endorphin cocktails served just when we are most vulnerable, our mind could be put into a state fit to task. States of fury, hopelessness, senseless violence, or love. In moments of passionate feeling we lose perspective.

From within hidden or barely recalled dream compartments would be the fertile ground in which to grow custom-made personalies. True subconscious alternate selves. Mini-me’s who are predisposed to one passion over another, paired with one endorphin cocktail or another. The little mini-me’s could be grown at night, when we slept, in memory compartments we only have access to when very specific neurological conditions were met.

With one remote surgical stroke a mini-me could emerge. We've read the stories of stroke victims waking up with different personalities, violent tendencies and orientations. It would be very much like a stroke of lightning, complete with an electrical jolt of activity in the brain, but it would be far from enlightening. If the technique were perfected, people may not even go to the doctor to report their 'headache'. Yikes, multiple personalities custom-made in a bootcamp of dreams. A never remembered history of compartmentalized memories become the dominant conscious memories, or perhaps only reactionary muscle memories honed from years of sleep-time training would arise.

Would I go through this whole bloody thread only to throw-out a what-if like this one when I've already written the bloody story? Why?

Oh, and I loved contact. A lot of it rings true to me. It's like the intergalactic dial tone is already out there for us to tap into. We just have to build a telephone first. At least her dear dead dad was kind enough to allow her to be lucid - to not block her memory - and to freely admit he wasn't really her father. I certainly hope President Trump would hesitate, in or out of a dream, to give the launch codes to his old man.

A maniacal laugh, an inside-out man, and a dark hotel hallway lined in deep crimson, crushed-velvet wallpaper.

If those were the only scraps you were given, could you weave a poetic dream tapestry from them without pausing to think?

I always could. I have had amazing dreams, day and otherwise, throughout my life, even as a child. I kept a journal before I was ten, another in high school, another in college, and am keeping an electronic one right here on my humble iPhone.

I’ve composed music, poetry, progressive stories around campfires, and even a screenplay or two with lifelong friends who also thrive on instinctive original inspiration. We taught one another that the best creative ideas come from the soul, from our deep passions, rather than the rehashed ideas of others. There is one thing that the “night” NEVER was in our tales...”dark and stormy.”

It is one of the wishes of the weavers of the synthetic telepathy web, that they be able to toss a few key ingredients into the biochemical pot of unconscious memory, and watch poetry, or propaganda, pour out. Our dreams become their artwork and source of endless research funding.

There are costs of course. The technology will inevitably reach the consumer’s conscious realm of plausibility. The weavers are competing against one another for funding, just as they would for any hush-hush government contract, as time is of the essence - and nothing is ever forced upon someone without a cost to be paid.

Just ask me. eab. founder of the angry lab rat society, seller of pitchforks, torches, and modest proposals.

Have you ever wondered what the biggest secret ever kept might be?

Well, surprise...aside from all of my expounding, this is it. I will even say it without an exclamation point. As insane as it sounds...as likely as believing in it is to getting you locked up as the proverbial 21st Century Scizoid Man, the most monumental secret ever kept is the Electronic Brain Link Network. It’s as well-regulated as Dodge City in the heyday of hoedowns and handguns, but as ubiquitous as the invisible waves spilling from our routers.

It didn’t happen over night, but it exploded in scope with the arrival of phones in every pocket, silver linings in every data cloud, and neural networking with cpu cores to spare. It is a fruitless venture to attempt to prove it. Just wait and see. The longer we go without exposing it, the greater the damage to individual liberty.

I wish I were kidding.
24   marcus   2018 May 18, 7:11am

Does tinfoil interrupt the ability of this technology to work effectively ?

I'm not completely kidding (only partly). Because if you're right it might mean that some of the the tinfoil hat folks maybe had a reason (other than mental illness) for feeling the way they do.
25   deepcgi   2018 May 18, 4:01pm

I don’t know. I doubt it. The problem is much larger than mosquito repellant at this point. As one secret squirrel industry honcho said, “When the public finally becomes aware of this, we have to be ready.”

Or I’m just kidding.
26   deepcgi   2018 Jul 1, 3:05am

If you work for or are related to someone who works for Oracle, Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, Google, CIA, FBI, any US military branch, a number of entertainment publishers, or one of dozens of other entities, you are probably already being neurally-mapped.

The question is...are you aware of it?

A part of you definitely is. The key is Compartmentalized Memory. It occurs mostly when you are asleep. When you are in the compartment, you remember the associated memories at the expense of other memories. It is a way of fracturing the psyche, unconsciously.

The heredity vs environment argument turned on its ear, so to speak. While in compartment A, you may recall a false history of your upbringing, your schooling, your successes and failures.

The AI doesn’t have to know your precise interpretations of neural activity. It only needs to eliminate the possibilities which are impossible, and factor them together with whatever known variables amongst other human brains are already known.

These are dreams you will not recall. It is rare to have the gift of leaking compartmentalized memories into conscious thought. One way to develop it, I suggest, is to watch for signs of interloping consciousness. More on that later, maybe. But here is a tiny example of how a simple neural connection could be mapped using artificial intelligence...

Can you imagine yourself peeling an apple without actually doing it?

Of course you can. Can you picture your hands doing it, even if you are sitting on your hands?

Of course. Perhaps you picture in your mind’s eye that you hold the apple in your left hand, while the right holds the peeler. With your eyes closed and your hands sat upon, you can turn the apple, peel it, dice it, and take a bite from it.

Those hands you picture are not your real hands. They are the hands you associate with your real hands in purely mental association.

If one day in a dream, someone shouts, “Hey there!” and you look over to see them throwing you an apple. You may well extend your mental hand to catch it.
If they are mapping you, they may simply disappear as quickly as they came, having learned what they came for - the neural activity signature for where you personally formulate the mental representation of that hand.

What if they could trigger endorphins or stimulate sensations in your mentally phantom limbs while you dream? Hm.. Compartmentalized Memory combined with biochemical reactions in dreams designed to be forgotten (until needed again). -eab

The door to your apartment is kicked open and a pile of government guys plop in to search for something in your closet to explain why they just kicked your door in.

Nothing new here, right? Intelligence agencies have been sniffing underwear in the name of the collective good for years. This time, however, it’s your mind that got kicked in.

No one gave them permission. Your mind was just lying there wide open, they were in the mood, and they hadn’t sniffed a good jock all afternoon, so the least you could do is offer them leftover cranial casserole.

Do not misinterpret my snarky, smart-ass tone. I mean this all in the most insulting and derogatory way possible. The technology is not only here, it is deep into fifty years of abuse and counting. Only with the arrival of mobile computing has the spy fantasy blossomed into something truly seductive and awful.

I know it’s impossible to believe. Meaning the technology part. Not that your relative in the CIA wants to sniff around in your underwear basket. You KNOW that’s believable!
28   deepcgi   2018 Jul 9, 2:51pm

Phone calls are history. We know that. It’s all “personal” and “social” messaging going forward, right?

Just remember that you only assume that there is a send and receive protocol in place. You can feel that way if it helps you to feel you still have a private life...a private mind. The truth is though, that there doesn’t have to be a send receive protocol. One side can begin listening or transmitting at any moment.

But what about when the listening part moves from outside the ear to inside the head?

Will the brain interpret “sound” or “visuals” that bypass the standard mechanics of your head in the same way?

Take a look at this insignificant tidbit from the folks at MIT...

http://news.mit.edu/2017/new-ai-algorithm-monitors-sleep-radio-waves-0807

What if you only transmitted the “sound” or “visuals”, bypassing the Standard Human Melon Mechanics (SHMM) of course, but ONLY when MIT’s AI Algorithm is sniffing out that you are dreaming?

If you are dreaming and new sound and visual arrives and it didn’t pass through your physical ears or eyes first, how would your brain interpret it during the dream? The same way as the sound you ignore while snoring away?

A chin scratcher isn’t it? Could we manipulate dreams that way? Adding information to the visual cortex for example while the person is dreaming? We already know that THAT part of the brain is accessing procedural memory in unique ways that factors into long and short term capability. Could we at least CHANGE the persons dream?

Take a look at another fun bit o’ Research from the insatiable neuromeisters at MIT...they are monitoring and changing the dreams of these rats. And they know WHAT the rats are dreaming about! Read it...it’s cool!

http://news.mit.edu/2002/dreams

Oh...Oops...
My bad.

(deepcgi slaps his head). LOL

THAT press release was 16 years ago. How silly of me!

But goodness me! What if voice-to-skull tech really DID exist 16 years ago and MIT knew about it? Do you suppose they could create experimental controls with people unaware that they are monitored? They were changing the dreams of rats. Why not try people?

Bah! What a joke. Like anyone at MIT would have thought of all this twenty years ago! LOL

Or or any of a dozen other research labs 30 years ago! ROFL

What am I thinking with this Electronic Brain Link Network garbage? It’s off-the-rails stupid. Based on that MIT research lab’s work alone, why would anyone have funded such research into neural manipulation? ?

(other than like Larry Ellison and Oracle I mean. They did obviously did, but that is just good business for a company doing database work). How do I create tiny tiny text, btw?

Your neural map is why the experience is so real and amazing. It is also an AI.
They call it your Ghost.

What even the elite don’t understand is that Others can manipulate the ghost when they are offline. Later the stored data can influence their real behavior in a simulation where the target misinterprets those choices for their own free will. Manipulation at the highest level.

I wish I had thought of that one, myself, but unfortunately, it came from someone else on the network at a very high level. Sometimes people don’t worry about the smart but lowly servant in the corner.

The Biggest Secret Ever Kept.

Laying in plain sight, but so complicated, hard to believe, and difficult to prove, that it lay secure.

But maybe one doesn’t have to prove anything but illegality at a mid-level. I wonder. (scratches chin thoughtfully)

Now for some fun! Here’s a game to play at home or in the office.

Have any friends, family, or coworkers that now seem to have amazingly clear memories of the past, but they never seemed to before? Almost like perfect recall?

That’s it. Just that! Have fun!

OK, the whole thing sounds nutty (a classic symptom of schizophrenia is the belief that others are monitoring or controlling your brain via radio waves) and yet that MIT article suggests we are getting close to exactly that:

To make it easier to diagnose and study sleep problems, researchers at MIT and Massachusetts General Hospital have devised a new way to monitor sleep stages without sensors attached to the body. Their device uses an advanced artificial intelligence algorithm to analyze the radio signals around the person and translate those measurements into sleep stages: light, deep, or rapid eye movement (REM).

“Imagine if your Wi-Fi router knows when you are dreaming, and can monitor whether you are having enough deep sleep, which is necessary for memory consolidation,” says Dina Katabi, the Andrew and Erna Viterbi Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, who led the study. “Our vision is developing health sensors that will disappear into the background and capture physiological signals and important health metrics, without asking the user to change her behavior in any way.”
34   deepcgi   2018 Jul 15, 12:53pm

35   deepcgi   2018 Jul 17, 6:31pm

Or maybe they have had the tech working for many years now, and are neurally mapping as many as 30 million Americans while they sleep. Not as thoroughly as troops of course, but still mapping the public, and even preparing entertainment experiences to lessen the shock that by all rights should shake the foundations of the country.

Read this and realize, leaks like this thread force their hand.

Whether you believe it or not:

The touch sensation transmission and reception has been working for years.

Wireless sounds and imagery directly to the visual and audio cortex has been working for years.

Transmission and reception of spoken language in a dream state has been working for years.

Manipulation of endorphins using remote
technology has been researched on unwary sleepers for years.

Creating simulated dreams via simple visual and audio cues where the brain does the heavy lifting of visualization has been working for years.

That people can mistake received voices as their own inner voice has been known and utilized for years.

The goal is to neurally map every American before another entity does the same. If the public knew about the neural mapping, the control and dissemination process would be compromised.

The effort is so mature that the world’s largest entertainment publishers are already being contracted to produce experiences that will both soften the shock of the technology rollout, and attract early adopters to contrast the inevitable backlash.

I’m currently finishing up the writing on a series of one hour long teleplays about the efforts of a group of neuro researchers perfecting methods of using “surgical strokes” in humans to do everything from treating Alzheimer’s disease to sexual orientation modification and personality adjustment.

Unfortunately, it’s not science fiction. I’m only writing it that way, because no one would believe it otherwise. Who would voluntarily give away a clever idea or five for their sci-fi series on a free blog like this?

Answer: someone who cares more about getting the word out than getting credit.

Why would DARPA write about the N3 efforts of creating non-surgical and even ingested neural-linking technologies before it’s even possible?

Answer: Because it has been possible for years. Preventing public backlash and revolution, when the inevitable revelation day arrives, is critical.

Now, relax and go back to sleep. -eab

You know what’s useful if you own a video game production company? All the new grads want to make video games! They will work for next to nothing and do crunch hours for you at every milestone! If they start to get wise to the abuse cycle, just hire 4 more newbies to take their place.

Now however, with the electronic brain link network, you can have the pixel gypsy slaves working all day AND all night!

And here’s the beautiful part, except for a key few, they won’t even remember it during the day. When they’re dreaming, to them, it IS daytime.

What about the gamers? Oh, that’s all of us. We will be completely ready and fully compatible by the time it rolls out. “Sync’ed with the system”.

Just imagine, computer games like VR without any headset at all. And touch sensations. And your friends are there! And here’s the best part of all...just like a dream, you don’t know it’s a game! You think it’s reality - most of the time. Chatting is just chatting of course.

(Scratches his chin)

Hey. When it turns out that I was right, will I get a prize? Because for every fringe lunatic attorney that’s found me looking for a way to build a class-action lawsuit, I get five times as many threats.

Well...of course I’m just the schizoid man, but you’re gonna love these head games. How can you not? But don’t tell anyone that it isn’t really about games at all.

The ice is definitely melting now.

Do you have any friends, relatives, or long-time associates who have recently demonstrated excellent, even remarkable, memory recall, when they never seemed to have had it before?

That’s interesting.

A little paranoia never hurt anyone.
I only said it was “interesting”.
Besides, according to what I’m intimating, you’re already connected.
