Even when I went with my dad as a kid we were always armed. I would never going into boonies without a gun for protection against animals human or otherwise.

Somehow I was innoculated early on from any attraction to the wild, either woods, desert or mountains. Give me the crowded shopping mall or busy downtown any time. I don't even like those when they're empty.
