The USSR failed because they went up against a much better system that America had. They just could not create the wealth that we created. Add to that the restrictions that were placed on their citizens freedoms to prevent them from discovering the success of our system, and you end up with guaranteed failure.

Thank You for taking off. I highly recommend Venezuela, where everyone makes $46.70 per month. If you save up enough, you might even be able to afford a cheeseburger at McDonalds on your birthday.
I would recommend Cuba too, but they won't even allow access to the internet for their prosperous citizens.

Georgism is the answer.

Everyone should be able to keep what they themselves produce through their own work, and commerce should not be taxed at all.

Land values are the appropriate object of taxation:

* No human created the land, so taxing it does not result in less land.
* Land cannot be hidden and ownership records are theoretically public, so taxes cannot be avoided.
* Renters will pay the tax via their rents.
* No one will be able to benefit from public infrastructure and safety without paying their fair share.
* The elderly should be allowed to defer their land taxes until death, at which point the accumulated taxes will be paid from the proceeds.
