Counter demonstrations are expected in most if not all cities that will have the rallies today. I've been following this for about a week now and most cities affected have been ramping up police etc. and expecting problems in addition to warning citizens to avoid these areas if possible. Santana Row is targeted in the Santa Clara area and I've been reading dire predictions from some other cities.

I just told my wife about the protests and she is already nervous. We weren't aware of this. We were just planning on hanging out at the beach with friends for a few hours. If there are any signs of violence and rioting we will leave.
