"When the off-duty officer who lived nearby heard the commotion and arrived at the scene Wednesday night to help, two on-duty officers ordered him to the ground but then recognized him and told him to stand up and walk toward them. As he was doing so, another officer arrived and shot the off-duty officer "apparently not recognizing" him, police said."

His defense will be: "They all look alike"

News articles should never be based on what a defense attorney says without corroborating evidence.

If you want to see the racist bullshit that happens when a likely racists shoots a criminal black cop and the whole thing blows up as a racist incident(when it wasn't but the black LAPD cops who were just as racist as the white cop and made it all about race) start with the wiki entry below and google the la weekly, salon.com, and PBS articles on the matter, and then go read Jasmyne Cannicks race laced articles on Lyga's actions 20 years later.

If cops can't do anything to not get shot by other cops for being black, what hope does the common man have?

This is another case where a cop committed murder, but won't be prosecuted even though his victim was also a cop and not breaking any laws and not failing to comply in any way whatsoever. But, no racism.

If black civilians killing other black civilians never faced charges and got a paid vacation for murdering, I think quite a few people would have a problem with that. Similarly, if cops who committed murdered actually got prosecuted like everyone else for the same crime, people would not be bitching about cops committing murder. It's not the original crime that upsets people. It's the crime of letting the criminal go without even facing trial or facing a rigged trial where they will be declared not guilty simply because of the job they hold. Why is this so hard for some people to understand?

Imagine if there was a serial cop killer, who when caught, the DA refused to prosecute or was acquitted by a grand jury. I bet quite a few conservatives would be literally up in arms.
