"The notion that Hitler learned anything—anything at all—from the Democratic Party here in the U.S. seems, on the face of it, surprising if not incredible. In reality, Hitler learned a great deal from the Democrats and from American progressives. He got some of his core policy strategies from them. Moreover, progressives of the time recognized their influence on Hitler and were proud of that fact.
Why, then, haven’t we previously heard a word about this? Why isn’t it mentioned in any of the history textbooks? How come no one in the media ever talks about this? Movies and documentaries about Hitler are notably silent on the topic. The reason, of course, is that we are victims of the big lie.

The big lie, as Hitler himself once noted, is a lie so big that it is difficult to get one’s head around it. People are accustomed to small lies, which is why they can detect them. This, however, is a lie so big that it doesn’t merely conceal the close connection between Hitler and the left; it also pretends that Hitler was a “right winger” and that his true American descendants are Trump and the Republican Party.

Big lies don’t just require gullible people; they also require powerful cultural institutions like academia, Hollywood, and the media to help sustain them. Progressive Democrats dominate these institutions, which is why they have been able to get away with a big lie like this one. They have not merely covered their tracks; they have virtually foisted the fascist label on the political right.

The real fascists, however, knew that they were on the political left. Mussolini—the original fascist leader, who came to power a decade before Hitler—was a Marxist who saw fascism as the most effective way to implement socialism. Hitler was so committed to socialism that he changed the name of the German Workers Party to the National Socialist German Workers Party. As historian Anthony James Gregor points out, all the original founders of fascism—in Italy, in Germany, in England and in France—were socialists and leftists.

8221; we can bust this myth once and for all. Thoroughly. Or until a leftist insists on ignoring it.Then we’ll hold them down and tape their eyes open. Just kidding, that’s only what a leftist would do. For those who’d rather watch this column in video form, there’s one below. For those who prefer reading, yuck. But scroll down.Adolf Hitler wasn’t

What a ridiculous article. It can be boiled down to this: Mussolini and Hitler were populists as well as fascists. Populist ideas (ones that purport to represent ordinary people) are things like socialism or Marxism and liberalism. Therefore, Hitler = American liberal. Wow - just wow. They throw in the new line about a big lie is more believable than a small lie. Breitbart readers are apparently ignorant of the fact that the 'big lie' strategy is Trump's go-to play call. Breitbart readers also apparently don't remember that Trump campaigned as a populist, promising terrific health care, fantastic jobs, and big tax cuts financed by unrealistic GDP growth. This article should be in The Onion.

Nazis burnt mothers and shot their babies. No one is doing this today as far as I know.
Please stop the Hitler comparisons.

But first they terrorized the streets to enforce "correct" thinking, beating up those who didn't conform or dared oppose them. Sound familiar? That's cuz we've been living that exact thing.

A frequently asked question is how could the German people just go along with the increasingly toxic and evil Nazi agenda?
Well, when society and the powers of government attack dissenting opinions and the people who present them, pretty soon everyone learns to either fall into line or be silent for fear of retribution. Sounds exactly like what the SJW movement is trying to do. Otherwise, why would "doxxing" a Trump supporter be an act of violence? If there were no army of haters ready to try to ruin the lives of people who disagree with Leftist thought, the "silent support" voters expressed for the 45th President at the polls wouldn't have been such a surprise to Hillary and her ilk. Instead, they got to find out what secret ballot means in the USA.

Yep. If you question the PC narrative you are labeled racist, denier, or stupid.

Stalin learned a lot from republicans and Pinkerton thugs...

Dinesh D’Souza is certainly a great source. That's the one that went to jail for illegal campaign contributions and got fired as president of kings college for boffing his secretary. What's with conservatives and adultery anyway? Family values? Being a good christian? At least he did someone that was female and over 18 which is way above average for a conservative.

Today, if you want to ally with a FDR Progressive, you need to embrace our current POTUS.

Really? Is that why trumps cabinet consists of a who's who of Koch bro's alumni? Because trump is so interested in progressives in his administration? Too funny.

While I admit he's biased (that little railroading by Dem officials which landed him in prison has made him very bitter), and certainly not without sin (are any of us?) his books are heavily researched and annotated. He's going to come at you with data, examples, and lots of them. You might not agree with his conclusions, but he's arrived at them legitimately and in a scholarly manner.

Maybe Dems will put Republicans in gas chambers.
If the members',of the Heritage Foundation,DNA was tested, would they be found to all be bigoted Redneck White Trash?

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York is Dem officials? Breaking the law and pleading guilty is being railroaded? Only in the bizarre pink sky world you live in. Too funny.

You sir, are disingenuous!

Most "protests" don't shut down a major international airport for the day. Sheesh, it literally matters not what example I give. You will call it bullshit even though your statement flies in the face of history and fact. There's just no arguing with you because you are disingenuous!

Although this is the first true thing TPB has ever posted, he still manages to sneak in a lie, specifically the lie that ANTIFA is the only one doing this. The right does censor speech as much as the left. Here are some examples:
1. Voter suppression laws masquerading as voter ID laws.
2. The War on Drugs prevents people from voting, which is voicing their political opinions and values.
3. Anti-nudity laws.
4. Decency laws including restricting speech on television and radio.
5. Anti-flag-burning laws.
6. Anti-prostitution laws. If money is speech, then paying for a prostitute is as much free speech as paying for politicians.
7. Pornography restriction laws.
8. Gag orders.
9. National security letters and laws prohibiting even talking about them.
10. Anti-encryption laws.
11. Domestic spying because it frightens people into not saying anything controversial.
12. DMCA and similar legislation

The conservative right is just as much about suppressing speech as the conservative left.

Agree. Whenever someone compares the pre-1964 parties to today's, it is a clear indicator that they know jack shit about history and politics. Whig Party metaphors are lost upon them too, unfortunately...

Actually, it's a clear indication that they are lying because they are ashamed of their own behavior and their own team.

Yup for the last 8 years the Liberals have been saying.

Those Red Neck violent Liberals from the 50's are the Republicans now.
But then what did they do when Trump won? Grabbed sticks and starting beating people they racially opposed.
