An other one: Bloomberg telling you how to think: Immigration Curbs May Be Wrong Way to Boost Weak U.S. Wage Gains
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-08-05/immigration-curbs-may-be-wrong-way-to-boost-weak-u-s-wage-gains

Among the arguments:
- "robots or technological change, low productivity”:
Well, if there is so much automation going on why are the productivity gains low? You can’t have it both ways. Outside manufacturing: not much automation, though this may change soon.
- “I don’t think immigration has that big of an impact on wages,”
Yeah? Because it’s obvious that 12 millions illegal poor workers desperate to do any jobs added to the labor supply don’t affect wages?
- consolidation that has created bigger firms with greater power to set wages
Because, again, the presence of 12 millions illegal poor workers desperate to do any jobs doesn’t affect corporate behavior…
