Facebook has today setup a second "Fire Center" in Essen, Germany. At the Essen location, 500 employees are to check content and remove any illegal or offensive entries (such as anti-migrant posts).

In Berlin, the number of employees censoring content will be increased to 700. Worldwide, Facebook wants to expand the number from 4,500 to 7,500.

The recently adopted Network Enforcement Act requires Internet platforms to delete hate speech in under 24 hours.

The Germans have experience with this sort of thing, censorship.

Germans have fantastic experience running the most efficient KGB clone in the world - Stasi. Facebook should simply hire back the 20% of East Germany who were Stasi agents, and nothing will escape the experienced censors.

Germany's new "fire center".

Post this on Facebook everywhere, especially if you have a German account. If not, create one.

FB is reportedly cooperating in the Muslim world plan against blasphemy, cooperating in the prosecution of a FB user who blasphemed and is thus now sentenced to death. TWTR cooperates with KSA to prosecute blasphemers; Saudis own more of TWTR than founding CEO Jack Dorsey. As technology sweeps away privacy, the Islamic threat worsens.

This is exactly why law enforcement should not be able to coerce companies. Rights must trump the law. Every country, including our own, has evil laws on the books whose sole purpose is evil. As all major companies, and many minor ones, are now international companies, this makes every company a member of the Gestapo enforcing the very worse of humanity's laws.

There's a big difference about calling people to behave better on social media and advocating that the state enforce, at gunpoint, the removal of content the state finds objectionable. If you cannot tell the difference, that is scary.

Reading comprehension problems? I can tell the difference just fine. Are you part of the we want bad shit off except our bad shit wingnut crowd who are being hypocrites on the issue or can you just not tell the difference. That's scary.

The fake British accounts idea is great. This should be done. In fact, such accounts should included untagged photos that contain politicians and are labeled "Muslim watch group" and "bomb expert" and such. Let the police harass the very politicians who are promoting such police harassment. Only when politicians personally feel the effects of their policies will they care about such effects.

Obviously not. You are trying to distract from your flaws.

Nor is that what the original post or the this thread is about.

I wonder how much hate rhetoric from Islamists gets censored and reported to law enforcement. I'm thinking that these days the need for that type of thing in Germany would be on the rise too.

I'm guessing nobody here has a problem with that - considering the Islamists may be planning on backing their hate with violence.

Yeah, but that's different, right ? Their hate is evil whereas hate directed against all immigrants (not just terrorists) is far more understandable, and must be tolerated as free speech. Becasue it's less likely (but not totally unlikely) to incite violence.

Where do we draw the line ? People that hate immigrants in general or Muslims in general aren't going to see a line. Or actually, I guess they see a line very clearly. It's the 'us versus them' line.

Behind all that is a woman named Anetta Kahane, she worked for the Stasi, spied on friends in the GDR, (one of them, a actor commited suicide because of it) and now she is in charge of the so called "Hate Speech Task Force".

Here a few informations about the lady

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anetta_Kahane

"Kahane was born in East Berlin in 1954 to Max Kahane and Doris Kahane. Her father, Max Kahane, was a member of the Young Communist League and, later, the Communist party of Germany. Because her parents were Jewish and active in communism they had to flee the Nazi regime to Spain and later France.[1] "
"Between 1974 and 1982 Kahane served as an unofficial employee of the Ministry for State Security (Stasi) in East Germany under the code name "Victoria". Stasi files connected to her work include more than 800 pages of reports. Among others, Kahane surveilled artists, students from West Berlin universities and West German television reporters.[2][3]"
"against xenophobia, antisemitism and right-wing extremism. In 2012 she was awarded the Moses Mendelssohn prize (de) donated by the Senate of Berlin.
In 2015, the Amadeu Antonio Foundation followed the German Ministry of Justice's invitation to take part in a task force against hate speech on social media."
