terrorist incidents

I've explained this over and over again.

When Earth First spikes Redwood trees, that's listed a terrorist act. If they receive several charges over the same incident (say multiple trees, the forestry equipment, etc.), all of those charges can and have been counted as acts of terror .
The FBI didn't immediately label the San Bernadino attacks, clearly a Jihadi Terrorist Act by common understanding of the term, as an act of Terrorism.
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/12/fbi-definition-of-terrorism/418722/
The Bush Admin didn't list the DC Snipers, who were clearly terrorists and praised OBL and quoted the Koran in their diaries, listed as terrorists.

If somebody sends a bottle of bleach to the IRS office and writes "I voted Ron Paul, you tax thieves! Bitcoin 4eva!" - that can be terrorism.

When ordinary people think of terror, the non-legally bound definition of terror, it involves death or injury by violence.

By that measure, the 1% of the US population that generates domestic Radical Islamic Terror caused deaths, is the leading cause of Terror Deaths, outsripping ALL other causes, left or right wing, or any other religion.

Counting all "acts of terror" lumps in Tax Protest Griping with blocking Forestry Roads where nobody died or was even got a blister or paper cut, with the Greatest Mass Shooting in US History with 40+ deaths.

That should be true, yes.

That's the designed-in problem/bonus with these terrorism and terrorist labels, they can be extended to anything or anyone you don't like.

On the other hand "death or injury by violence" is a nice and "cut and dry" specification, and for that reason it is unfavorable.

I do not see that the hatred is any greater today than 50 years ago.

The violent tendencies of any individual human are running level. What is different today is the internet and our proximity to one another. Everyone is fed the hot-button issues immediately and they simmer commonly in the public consciousness simultaneously.

In addition, there are nearly three times as many people occupying the same real estate today as only two generations ago. We have no common culture. We have shared no great burden or suffered through any severe hardship together. We have no common moral treatise to which we can consult for wisdom. Yet we are supposed to all get along and respect one another's fears, loves, hatred, and lifestyle.

The United States may be the greatest melting pot of all. Soup made fresh daily by dozens of chefs in the same kitchen. No wonder the lines are so long, the prices so high, and the taste of the lunch special like yesterday's ass.

Will every white person be the last image and memory of slavery. Will the democrats then want to eradicate all whites? It’s a serious question. We have lost the dignity of labor, and the celebration of the working man. It's seen everywhere from politicians to beer commercials. There is the virtuous, heroic, so very smart coastie professionals and trust fund babies, the ghetto poor, and the lousy, dirty redneck & rustbelt ignorant horrible scum.

The only celebration of work on TV is Single Moms juggling 50 different things. Which is good marketing, since women control most household spending. A little fact feminists avoid because it hurty their narrative.

@Rew So certain thought and speech deserves to be suppressed by violence?

And you're the judge of which thought and speech deserves to be suppressed by violence? If not you, who?

@Patrick

"Forced back underground" doesn't mean by violence. It means by overwhelming defiant opposition. It will be, and is already becoming, a massive outpouring of the American populace which decries, disavows, abhors, and condemns white supremacy and Nazis. It's happening in the wake of Charlottesville. The radicals caught on film there committing a crime are being hunted by law enforcement. Spencer has an arrest warrant out for him. Many are now wishing they stayed in their basements or wore hoods. This is not surprising. This is America.

The question of "which thought and speech deserves to be suppressed" is not hard for anyone to answer, especially for you Patrick, the creator and maintainer of a free speech website. It's speech which seeks to insight violence against a people, government officials, and espouses ideologies which seek to sow disunion and destroy American principals by radical action. It's speech which furthers the ability of radical terrorist organizations to recruit, organize, spread, and do damage to people.

As someone who often has already been put in the position of deciding what the Patrick.net community finds acceptable free speech site, you already know this.

I get it. It's natural for people to defend and absolve the sins of their chosen candidates. We all do it.

I'm a white male who went to college and works in a libby tech company. I get it. Believe me I do. I see the problems inherent with diversity programs and minority organizations. But you cannot fight against these things with aggrieved hate, malice, or scientifically insignificant statistics hyping differences between race and sex. We are overwhelming more similar than dissimilar.

Bottom line: America is stronger unified and Nazis are not a wedge issue. There are no real questions about this, statues, free speech, etc. There are just those that still want to sheepishly find ways to support Trump's actions and speech in the wake of Charlottesville and those that want him impeached already.

This is about the rule of law, not whether you like Trump or not. He wasn't my fav candidate either but that doesn't mean I'll join the choir of liars and call him a racist. Just look at his history and you can immediately see how far fetched and ridiculous that claim is. And solely being a blowhard is not grounds for impeachment.

The president is failing to control diplomatic and domestic issues by being a 'blowhard'. Impeachment is not a criminal charge. It's a political one. He is unfit.

Doubtful. Obama could have been impeached for overstepping executive powers and W should have been impeached for Iraq. Trump has been factually right on the current issue of political violence and there are no crimes to charge him with unless causing mass hysteria amongst the leftoids is now considered a crime. But we'll see.

I think you greatly underestimate who has just turned against Trump. This, again, is not a wedge issue.

His arts council just mass resigned today. His business council ... gone. Most republican representatives just spoke out against him, 12 with enough courage to call him out by name. Mitt Romney just fired his opening salvo for 2020 primary challenge.

Again, this isn't a wedge partisan issue we are talking about. On the 15th, something shifted. There will be careful political calculators too, but Trump is now a pariah.

Possible, it is extremely difficult to gauge the climate now that most of the mainstream media has completely abandoned their journalistic duty and is just a shrill hysteric mouthpiece. I still doubt it but it could also be that Pence will take over, and Pence is not only very strong, but also very smooth as you can see how he obliterated pretty much everybody (Tim Kaine, "reporters") in 1-1 discussions.

Like I said, hysteria after hysteria from the left.

Its funny, cuckynot keeps wanting to attribute Trumps election to hysteria on the right. Except the right didn't elect Trump. And Trump supporters can explain exactly what they wanted(not that its all happened in entirety, but thats not the point to this thread)

-More secure borders.
-A foreign policy that does not kowtow to foreign nations
-yobs. More of them. Many yobs. And for Americans, not Mexicans.

Pretty simply on the part of trump supporters I think. OTOH the left has to perpetually invent hysterias.

I don't know, I give up. What ? A figment of your imagination ?

Kind of incoherent question, appears to be written by TPB. I've heard you say that CNN is saying Nazi's are everywhere, or something to that effect. I don't watch CNN, but it sounds doubtful. I haven't heard anyone calling you or Patrick or any of the other Trump lovers Nazi's just because they like Trump.

You seem to be taking the whole Nazi affiliation that exists for some minority of Trump supporters badly. Worse than the others.

By the way, that ATM post of yours was quite lovely. A little humorous - definite dog whistle qualities to it. Not racist at all. Good job.

I get it that it can't be easy to be so conflicted. On the one hand you totally reject the hatred for the American way and the sick weaselly notions of racial purity espoused by neonazis. And you hate that Trumpism seems to brought them out of the shadows. On the other hand there's just something about the whole thing that upsets you. They should have their right to show their ugliness to us all (I agree with that by the way). Isn't it interesting that we don't see more in the media about what those clowns really want - which also clarifies how small a minority they are ?

I don't believe you have any conception of how much of a set back this Trump shit show is.

IT'S THIS:
With drug-war laws smashing the constitution, ever expanding enforcement and excessively militarized enforcement, we have the framework that could be a tipping from authoritarianism into tyranny, all we need is the political will, the ideological reason to enforce intolerance of all dissenting opinions.
