All you have to worry about is getting your lump sum and the insurance agent out of those non-extraditable countries!
I've thought about that. Very little information is available about them on the internet, but I see no complaints about them anywhere. I have seen them mentioned on TV. The office is uptown in Baltimore City, so I should be able to drop by their office if I want to.
It depends on your perspective. From the insurance company's perspective, it's how to get you to part with your money on the basis of a puffed contractual promise that gives them the "possession is nine tenths of the law" advantage over the money.
From your perspective, you aren't really buying insurance, you are buying the right to sue the insurance company on the basis of the insurance contract and hope that they haven't pulled up their shingle or just say "no". They always emphasize how old, established, reliable and solvent they are, but after a few years of underwriting shifts, you will probably find your policy tossed off to a one eyed Congolese prince.
