A tour of the solar eclipses path reveals a nation that fought to maintain a different sort of totality. In this essay, Ristroph suggests the solar eclipse is racist because its path, where the eclipse can be viewed in totality, doesnt pass over high populations of black people. This isnt satire. It is real.Excerpt fromThe

Trump was trying to devour the sun. These things didn't happen in America when Obama was President.

Not true: I saw an eclipse with my own eyes when Obama was a POTUS.

Actually, the long-winded and pretentious article does not say that. Read it for yourself if you like.

The article uses the eclipse to introduce a monologue on race in American history. That's a lame segue, but it hardly says what the title of this thread or thegatewaypundit says.

So some lame ass leftist tries to use a solar eclipse, something that has absolutely nothing to do with race, to yap about race. Then some even lamer right wing snowflake makes a mountain out of this molehill. Once again, the left and the right are the same. Both are engaging in identity politics for something that has nothing to do with politics.

He he he. You could say the solar eclipse is racist because it made sure Black people don't damage their eyes by looking at it.

Must be hard looking at everything through a prism of racism even on celestial level.

I also went to the source and agree with your assessment. In fact, it explicitly states that the solar system is not biased, right in the beginning. This is obvious, so I'm guessing they put that drift in the beginning, because they foresaw the way it would be misrepresented in the alt-news.

Both the left and the right engage in blatant straw men. This is why every red pill talk starts with "we are not advocating rape", because that actually has to be said given the deliberate misinterpretation that conservatives on either side will use to poison the well.
